Is it possible to craft golden apples after the 1.8 update?

After the 1.8 update it is possible to craft golden apples, but I assume you mean as soon as we get the 1.8 update.

In that case, I don't believe we will be able to craft golden apples as soon as we get the 1.8 update.

To my knowledge, golden apples were able to be crafted in 1.9. I could be wrong though. Hopefully someone else can either confirm or disprove this.

EDIT: Forgot to add, in 1.9 you could craft a golden apple with one apple and eight golden nuggets. Even later in the official release, enchanted golden apples could also be crafted with one apple and eight gold blocks.

If by "craft" you mean "use creative mode to spawn some," then yes. I don't think you can actually craft them, though.

I checked the wiki, but information on when and how they became craftable is pretty cryptic.

Yes I ment when we get the 1.8 update and by crafting I ment an apple plus 8 golden nugets or 8 gold blocks

I'm pretty sure you could craft the golden apples before 1.8 with golden blocks. It's just that there was never a legit way to obtain apples until 1.8.

Unless they're adding golden nuggets to this version (They didn't come out until 1.0), we can assume that golden blocks are the only way to craft golden apples.
