4J has made statements that Issues with RAM are making it hard for them to expand worlds, much less make them infinite. From a realistic standpoint, I would venture to guess that xbox will NOT see infinite worlds ever. From an optimistic standpoint, I hope they manage to find a work-around to at least increase the size.

Without the skin... Beneath the storm... Under these tears...The walls came down
The only thing complex about Minecraft is the voxel system. The same thing the others are based around.
As far as I know, none of the clones run at 60fps, support splitscreen, have as many mobs as Minecraft, or have liquid and blocks physics (flowing water/lava and falling gravel/sand). From what I've seen of the other clones, their terrain generation isn't as complicated either, especially with how 1.8 terrain is going to be.
So...about those Minecraft clone indie games that have infinite worlds.....
I'm pretty sure those games don't have as many dynamic aspects that can increase lag, like redstone particles, lava, water, mob spawning, etc that Minecraft has
It has all been explained - go back and read the interview MG posted on the first page of this thread. It explains it all. Sigh, how many times does it have to be said?
I wish they would just implement a single player larger world. Cut the fps down to 30 , remove split screen and online friends for this world. And atleast have it be around 3500 x 3500 .
I could live w/that. I've been a avid supporter about increasing world size and I've also been pretty vocal about it on these very forums and also on Twitter. A few months back 4J was asked numerous times about increasing world size and their first response was..."We know it's a problem for some people and we are looking into it." Then a 2nd time they were asked and they responded..."We are concentrating on the updates first. We want to bring MC360 up to date w/PC and sometime down the line we will start working on minor issues like increasing world size" Now after seeing those tweets and then now seeing the link that Mustache Guy provided I don't know what to believe. If 4J couldn't increase world size then why didn't they just respond w/"No it can't be done due to memory, ram, etc." That's what I don't get cuz I've seen 4J tweet to other people when asked if something can or will be added to a game and they've either answered yes or no. So I don't know what will happen because now there seems to be conflicting statements

I'm guessing they are atleast going to get to the final release version of minecraft before they really start talking about increasing world size . Hell 2000 x 2000 would be more than enough . That's more than two times what we have now I would not know what to do with all the space. Beyond that though time will tell. I'm just glad they kept their promise and actually updated this game unlike some other games that came on Xbox promising updates and then updated it once or twice and threw the project in the trash can .
None of the clones are as complex as Minecraft.
There are many factors at work.
