well as animals become persistent with the update thus corralling them so you have them all nice and contained makes sense, so i dont see how the corralling precludes breeding being present or not to be honest.
Nice! Sounds good to me. I watched the new video, but I didn't even realize that haha.
Anyway, I feel that breeding in the next update is a necessity because without it there will be a limited amount of animals and resources associated with animals. Also, I believe that 4J is somewhat obligated to bring breeding into this update because they chose not to bring enchanting into the update (still kinda mad about that ) and also chose to leave the XP bar out.

4j isn't obligated to do anything as of this point. They removed the XP bar because enchanting wasn't added til 1.9 so XP would have been useless. Breeding is far from being added as it came in after alpha. The most logical explination to the new food video is that the mobs we're. Found and trapped in minecarts and pushed into the pen. Very likely and logical
imagine you run out of pigs+cows in your world ... theres no way to get them back .. and unlike pc we can;t just go exploring to completly new "maps" ((as in the map you hold runs ouT))
so breedin would be logical for the xbox otherwise people would complain like mad i know i woould
It's a possibility that they do something in the middle where animals won't despawn but if they are killed, then it frees up a spot for another to spawn. Just guessing as it seems like a decent thing to do if they don't plan on adding breeding and if that was easier and faster to program in. Just having them be gone forever seems a bit harsh for a game that's not going to be updated on a regular basis (compared to the PC version).

If we get breeding, yay. If we don't, we still have regular animal spawning. It's a win/win. So now this discussion is kind of well, pointless.

Retired StaffMost definitely pretty much means without a doubt. 4J never guaranteed we would be getting Enchanting in 1.8.
maybe i was in doubt when i said that

No, they really haven't said much of anything about it.
If there is no breeding, then the questions that come up are: "Will chickens spawn from eggs?" and "Will sheep eat grass and regrow their wool?"
At least with those two we have a little bit of farming we can do.
