4J released a video and screenshot some time ago of chickens inside
a large pin. While some people thought this lead to breeding, people soon
discovered that that the player could've easily thrown eggs all over the
place.
However, 4J's recently released video shows cows and pigs in a big pin
together. Note: 4J has not confirmed breeding, but I have a pretty good
feeling breeding will be in 1.8.2.
Feel free to discuss your opinions on breeding this early.
Nice! Sounds good to me. I watched the new video, but I didn't even realize that haha.
Anyway, I feel that breeding in the next update is a necessity because without it there will be a limited amount of animals and resources associated with animals. Also, I believe that 4J is somewhat obligated to bring breeding into this update because they chose not to bring enchanting into the update (still kinda mad about that ) and also chose to leave the XP bar out.

I don't mind not having enchanting, it wasn't even in the PC 1.8 update anyway. Breeding is a must-have though, the animals will go extinct otherwise. I don't want my only source of food to be bread (and chicken 'cause of egg farms).

I think they changed the rules so that ANYTHING twitter related about 4J HAS to be posted in the forum for that from now on.

1.8 threads have been getting locked because there is no need for dozens upon dozens of update threads. Not to mention people keep making threads about the same thing. I think this is the 3rd or 4th thread about breeding in the last 2 days.
I'm still holding back on whether breeding is in the update or not. Just like the Chickens in a pen, the cows and pigs could have been captured there as well.

I don't think this thread will be or should be locked. I don't know all of the rules, but I've seen quite a few threads locked for redundancy. Most of these threads were about "When is the update coming out?" There was a thread earlier locked for redundancy that was asking for a good snow seed that I don't think should have been locked, but I can understand why it was because there is a best seed thread.
You are presenting us with ideas based on observations of a new video, so in my opinion there is no way this can be locked for that reason.

Actually, they have the dev kit xbox's. So they can do what they want. All with commands.They could've just spawned them

Well, yeah, of course they could've, but it would make more sense if they caught them with
wheat. And I'm still doubting they're going to implement breeding as well. If they are, I'm not sure

If villagers aren't in 1.8, we won't get any new friendly mobs until 1.2.3. We'll get Snow Golems, Iron Golems, Villagers, and Ocelots (cats).
I was wondering about this too because someone added breeding to what's in the upcoming update on the wiki but no where is that actually confirmed. It was just a guess.

Anyways, When the food bar comes out, it's going to be so awesome for my RPG server! More need for food and to be spending that money, yooo! If breeding isn't in the 1.8 update I doubt it'll be completely game breaking like some predict, I have bread stockpiled and a huge wheat farm. If anything, it'll just keep all my farmers in my world more busy.

No you won't! You will have the creepers! Give them a hug once in a while! That's all they want! They get neglected all the time.
Why would they do that in a preview of whats to come? I can understand your reasoning, but I doubt that for a preview of new updates.

after watching the new food video a few times, i can definitely see how it could be a teaser for breading.
like, why does he get bread? thats not new
to show that it stacks?
