Bic lighter! Haven't seen anyone do something like this so I thought I'd post. Has a chill room at the top inside with some sofas and a record player to trip out to.
Still a work in progress but definitely my favorite build so far. From the shoping bazaar to the Final Fantasy themed shops and inn to the evil skull mountain in the distance and my invading ship with canon. Let me know if you have any ideas to add! Shop names include - Chucks Woolery, Sugar Mammas, Picks Axes, I Can Dig It, Inks and Dyes, Cecils Weapon Shop, Cids Armour Shop, Rosas Inn, The fountain is donated by Prince Edgar of Figaro
Since people here like building so much, maybe you guys could try your hands at some truly difficult and complicated builds.
Omashu - Avatar the Last Airbender
Someone should definitely try building this city. I think it would look amazing in Minecraft.

I'm almost 100% sure that the Xbox 360 Edition's map isn't even big enough to house this city, let alone a small part of it. Nobody but the shows creators know how big the city really is, but I'm guessing it's absolutely massive considering it takes up a significant part of a continent. The outer wall (first picture) has to be at least a few hundred feet high.
If someone managed these, I would be highly impressed.
Ive seen the whole show.
I know how Big the city.
Its no Small build trust me.
Your gonna need alot of people.

I think this is pretty cool. and the lighter is so oG XD good job
Here are a few orbs I built just now to see which one would give off the best light to look like a lighthouse or what ever you like. The one on the left is glowstone one space from the glass because right next to it makes it go dark. The next is water with glowstone in the center of the water. The thiird is full of lava and the last is a colum of sand with torched all around it. The pictures are from 100, 50 and 25 blocks away. Hope this helps sombody with a future build.
LOL its just i could never see myself ever doing things like this. I guess i have to put more time into minecraft
Sadly i had to start over yesterday after losing my main map. i couldn't play on it without it freezing :\ so there goes all my so called big builds. So im on a clean map and after seeing all your amazing builds i think i can make an amazing build as well and will post it
you lost your map? I lost my first world fom the xbox aswell, i know how it feels.. Get in the habit of backing up saves. it will save you so much work here is my old world.
and there was alot more behind where these are taken... i had a factory, a spleef arena, 2 more skyscrapers and a few other things... had atleast 2 months in the world before i lost it.

Challenge Accepted i will look more into it and maybe if we get creative mode, i will work on doing it :D. Avatar was a good show back in its day.

So, you're saying if I build this impossibly large and elaborate fantasy city in an 862x862 area then I could actually impress you? WORTH IT!
great topic you got going here i'm new to minecraft and have some builds to show nothing fancy well sort of the trouble with mcx360 is that its so addictive lol.hope you guys enjoy. oh you can check my youtube channel out its leglessgoanna... my mushie and my dome
Storage room above the collection point. Ladders continue on to the upper walkway:

Items after 3 minutes of waiting:
It's still not finished. Got to put in some windows & other things. Some nice builds in this thread too.
I absolutely LOVE this.

I am a Minecraft tourist. I am currently unavailable under the XBoxLIVE ID listed here but can be found under ZombieL0C0. If you see me online playing Minecraft, send a message and I will gladly take a stroll through your world.
Redstone is all I do, and I've never made a note block song lol. I probably could, if I set my mind to it, but it sounds pretty frustrating. The most annoying part of any build, for me, is getting the timing right. That's pretty much all building a note block song is, timing.
well timing and key. if you decide to do this. make a simple metronome using a clock and a couple of note blocks on stone (drums). this will help with the timing, i buit mine with 10 note blocks. you could use less for sure. you can just build off from it for the melody.
lighthouse, pirateship, elevator, waterslide, foating house, lava fountain, water fountain, a subway station, varius farms, including a slime farm with a slime crusher
it is 191 blocks tall and it haves around 63 rooms (each floor is a room, i didnt waste my time dividing the rooms per floor)
i take too long to finish this giant XD

Eh, I wasn't planning on actually doing it, I'm no musician/composer. I'll stick to building machines that process information.
What can you do with computors in minecraft dude? Always wondered
Well, not much with the computer I built. It's very limited in processing power and, as such, isn't very fun to program. Obviously it can add or subtract numbers and perform very simple algorithms, like counting up or down, running the Fibonacci sequence, or bitwise shifting left.
My next computer will be much more useful, programing-wise. In terms of processing, the ALU will be about 6 times more powerful as far as internal logical functions go. But, a ton of complex algorithms become possible with that power, making it quite formidable. When it comes to data, the new CPU will be 256 times more powerful.
Not sure what peripheral devices will be attached, except a GPU (video card) of course. It will be a modified 8-bit GPU that can be controlled by 16 bits of data, making it twice as fast. It will have fill commands for X and Y coordinates, be able to draw pixel by pixel, or perform scan line rendering.
^^^ That's fancy talk for, "The computer will be able to draw pretty pictures and make graphs n' stuff."
I see most people think that "best" build is the same as "biggest build". I'm not into building over-sized weird looking things. (The mushroom above was built in a friends world where everything is huge, so I needed to fit in there.) I prefer my builds match the world theme and look like they belong.
My "Best" Build so far is my recently completed Boat Racing attraction. It's not complicated, but it is functional and unique. It's basically 2 boat launchers, with a starting gate attached to a drag-style starting light (where yellow counts down to green). The light counts down when both players hit a ready switch. At green you run to the launcher, place your boat, and push the button to launch you into the bay. I'm still designing the race course (hoping to include a cool jump, and plenty of buoys).
Make backups of your save files if they keep corrupting. Oh and if you dupe that's probably why.
I do, every time I I turn my Xbox off it gets sync'd to Cloud storage. Also have a backup on a memory card. & I've only ever dupped once in minecraft. & that was for like for half an hour on a brand new map. Didn't even save the map.

If you're talking about peripheral devices though, I did build a simple redstone game as an attachment to the computer:

Hahaha God knows. More than a few hours a night for about a week. I'm guessing close to 15-20 hours. Maybe?
