More and more you see these threads titled "Mod discussion" or "What mods would you like to see," and I've always felt i was with the slim majority of people who thought mods where a bad idea (for the xbox 360 edition, anyway). It's very hard for me to put into words why i think mods would be a bad idea for the 360, but i'll try. The reason mods work on pc is because their created by the community, people who constantly hear the complaints and wish"s of other players, people who watch the youtube videos and hear what everybody's asking for. If mods where brought to the 360, they would have to be made by 4j them self, if a person made mods for a game they created, they might as well be toggleable options from the main menu. Another reason why mods work for pc is because they are made by many different people, who have many different ideas, but if 4j made mods, it would be the same 6 or 7 guy's who made the game itself.
leave your opinions below, i'm very interested in hearing from other users.
People say we aren't allowed to port mods from PC into DLC on xbox.
'Cold stream' on left 4 dead was a DLC on xbox that was originally a
mod on PC.
But anyways, I think mods/DLCs just kind of make the game different in
an annoying way most of the time. I don't really care for them. I would
much prefer 4J designing really awesome texture packs instead. I've always
been a fan of those.
i would love to see only one mod. that would be TEKKIT. the reason being, that once you have done building everything you can on minecraft alone, there is not much else to do. TEKKIT being a really huge mod right now, i believe that 4-J should copy/convert the scripts for it, and transfer it over. also, i'm sure it they really wanted... they can make it so that way it would be a "switchable" (as in turn it off and on at will) mod.
i'm not really sure as to the other types of mods. i do know that there are a lot of different texture packs for the PC but as stated, if giving the chance, i would only download TEKKIT for minecraft xbox. the reason being, just for the pure fact that, that one mod, covers so many things in one package.
instead of going down a hole, digging until you can't pick up anything, going back and forth... why not have a machine to do it for you? a machine that you can control, or turn off at anytime? maybe you want to set up a nuclear power plant? i know they can do it, but the biggest questions would be: are they? will they? and when?
I love Tekkit, but c'mon guys. You can't talk about Tekkit on every single thread that
has to deal with mods. All that does is make people mad and change the subject.
Mods! I would love to see as well as texture packs in my opinion I think they need to work more on those then skins...
The reason there focusing on skin packs is because there easy to make (well compared to something like a texture pack or mod), have been requested by the community COUNTLESS times and it brings the xbox version one step closer to being level with the pc version + their good little cash cows. personally, i would much rather see them make some more skin packs and some texture packs then release a mod like tekit or something like that.

We'll eventually be getting paid DLC, it's just a matter of time. Just like how Shivering Isles was a "mod" for Oblivion.
good point, but i'm talking about what people are asking for, not what is most likely going to happen. People keep starting threads about what mods would be thbest to bring forward, but 4j can't just copy and paste other peoples mods without their permission. And even if they did get permission, it wouldn't look very professional to just re-sell mods that already exist.
I would prefer that 4J work on the updates to the game and that, as they have already indicated, go their own way with it. I think by then 4J will have earned the right to a little expression of their own creativity. As the OP said, I believe any mod-like additions 4J might make to the game are better off just being added into the main game itself as options in the game's regular menus. When I play an XBox game, I like it to be all as one package and don't really want to have to access a bunch of add-ons separately. XBox just isn't an "open-source" environment.

couldn't agree more

...Then why are you on the MCX360 forums?
I would rather have 1.3 before any mods.
