Is anybody else having this problem?
I try to break the damn ladder but everytime i see the crack it freaking stop craking and gets uncracked? iguess bottom line is i cant take it off the wall the only way i can take it off is by breaking the block its sticked on. anybody else having this?
Are you perhaps moving your crosshair around a little as you mine. The ladder, not the block, needs to be outlined before starting and it has to stay outlined the entire time until it breaks. Since ladders cover almost the whole block and it is possible to mine the block through the rungs of the ladder, even a little movement of the crosshair can shift the outline from the ladder to the block.
I've seen this two with rails as well. I've noticed that is I hit them from an angle off to one side or the other then the problem seems to go away. Or at least isn't as bad.
Are you crouching so that you stay in one place. I found it was nearly impossible to remove a section of ladder while I was on it until I found out that if you crouch it willkeep you from going down the ladder.

its like one swing hits the ladder, the next hit the wall behind it, allowing the ladder to re-generate. thats my guess.

Retired StaffThat sounds more similar to the "blocks reappearing after mining" bug on the official bugs list. 4J's theory is that it is related to lag issues.
