So onto the question:
Are there certain items there are easier to duplicate than others? I made a world just for Duping, and I got Redstone to dupe on the first try, YET I tried to dupe a repeater and I had about 20 furnaces used up, and after that I gave up. I know it's a 50/50 chance. But 20 furnaces??? It took 3 furnaces just to do Diamond, 2 for Gold, several for smooth stone.
and how do you get a sticky piston without slimes and modding? I do not want to do all that work into finding a slime area. It took me 10 50x50 spaces 11 blocks shy of bedrock to finally get slimes to spawn in the last one, and that world has since been long gone.
Also another question. Creepers! Why are they not dropping gun powder?? I killed 5 of them and nothing came out! >.>
unsure of the first question, but as for the second maybe try attack from the front. eye to eye. I don't get gunpowder often either so i think it maybe a low drop rate...

It's not a 50/50 chance, and only certain items can be duped, for example, you can't dupe logs/wood.
Actually. You can Dupe logs/wood. I've duped a lot of items in my old world before this one. It is a world that was created after the 1.7.3 update, so it might have been easier in those worlds. I don't really know. =P

Strange. My brother dupes everything for his builds and he is constantly updating me on the list of items that supposedly can't be duped. Well there goes that theory. But I'm pretty sure it's actually a 1 out of 4 chance.
Not smooth stone, I used 2,000 smooth stone that would have taken me 2 weeks just to gather everything and have enough resources. I've built a huge castle, and several buildings with in 2 hours. My original un-duped, un-modded world took me a month to build the same castle out of smooth stone.

I actually just started to duplicate anyway. =P Got so bored, because after a few hours I get bored and end up getting off the game, even though I still want to play. So a friend had taught me how to, and I made this world just for duplicating. It's quite amazing the things you can do really fast with the duplicating glitch, but once Creative mode comes out, I wont need to Dupe. I'll actually be able to build what I have always wanted to do, but unable to because what I want to do would take (for me) at least 4-5 months just for a very small portion of what I want to do. Plus I want to make a tall scale model of towns/cities from other games such as Final Fantasy. =P
I have my xbox off and currently on my PS3 watching Netflix. and trying to go to bed, but I cannot. =P
Also before this, I glitched the game so that I'd have everything I wanted to. I'd say what I did, but I may end up getting into trouble or something like that. =P
It was a satarical post, but there was some truth in it. All the time spent talking about duping on these forums could all be better spent actually playing Minecraft.
Wrong to second part, you can dupe anything, i duped logs last night, ive done repeaters, fish(which stacks it), redstone, wool, glass, tools, you can dupe anything that fits in a furnace, and the chances vary, sometimes first time, others ive gone through 10,15,20 furnaces

Not true, you can dupe all items. Including lava and water. I have duped logs a lot before.
It is not a 50/50 chance. It is a 1/10 chance. Because on average a glitch should not occur and the average amount of tries for each item (if you try to duplicate each of them 30 times) The average is about 1/10 to succeed. It's all glitch,

I was able to dupe wood.. and It worked on the first try.. the only items that I know you can not dupe are items that are not able to be stacked.. such as doors and signs..

Nah, a lot of us use the forums at work.
