Everyone is all talking about how 1.9 will be in between 1.82 and 1.23 because 4J studios just tweeted about it. You guys are acting like it's brand new news.
If I recall right (Or i'm just physic) 4J said a long time ago that the updates would be from 1.66 - 1.73 - 1.82 - 1.9 - 1.23 and then we'd go our own way.
Was I really the only one who knew this?

Religion, has actually convinced people, that there's an invisible man, living in the sky, who watches everything you do every minute of the day, and the invisible man has a special list. Of 10 things he doesn't want you to do. And if you do ANY of these ten things he has a special place, full of fire, and smoke, and burning, and torture, and will send you there to suffer and choke and scream for all of eternity... But he still loves you.
Are you positive? I believe 4J has said 1.2.3 is directly after 1.8.2.
I haven't heard of them going to 1.9.
Yeah, people are talking about how theres an update in between 1.23 and 1.82. Thats what 4J tweeted.
Yet I feel like I knew this way before. Infact I did.

"We're considering releasing an update between 1.8.2 and 1.2.3 to reduce the time people have to wait for the new features."
CONSIDERING...
CONSIDERING!!! THIS ISN'T CONFIRMED

Yes, 4J is known for 'considering' a lot of things, but they say this
statement in a very direct and positive manner. You can tell when 4J wants
to do something but then doubts it.

4J's original plan was 1.8.2 straight to 1.2.3 in tersm of content updates. However, seeing how impatient people are, they now considering doing a smaller update in between the two bigger updates to help people. They have not confirmed whether this will actually happen or not, only that they are thinking about it.
They just started talking about this this week sometime.

That's what I thought. I'm not sure if this is correct, but I heard the original plan was to do a huge update, jumping from 1.8.2 to 1.2.3, so they would be able to use their free updates more sparingly. And this was a month ago, so 4J must have mentioned something. That or the guy that told me just happened to be the reincarnation of Nostradamus.
I would actually prefer bigger updates that take longer, I'm in no hurry. Plus, if it does indeed mean they only have so many free updates, I would think everyone would approve of doing it this way. And maybe, just maybe, not whine and bellyache as much. I very much doubt that last part though.

There's always going to be impatient people, but I don't think 4J
should satisfy them by doing this. I agree with you, everybody can wait,
nobody's in a hurry and absolutely needs these updates to come out right
now, we're all just going to have to sit and wait patiently.

most people want new things more often, that way it keeps the game fun. If they have to wait longer, then they get bored and impatient. Not saying I am one of those people, just stating my nonprofessional opinion

Their original plan was to do 1.8.2 then just jump to 1.2.3 in a single update.

Other games have to wit longer for DLC/updates than we do. There are plenty of easy ways to not bore yourself out of enjoying the game. Minecraft is also the only game on the Xbox 360 to be getting this much free content.

Seriously. Most other games would have been released and we'd have been told it was a final version. Then release the updates as DLC and charge for them. We're pretty lucky if you ask me.

Like Mustache said, updates take much longer in other games. Sometimes they don't even come at all, except in the form of a patch to fix bugs. Some games don't even get that, so really we're extremely lucky. If there wasn't a PC version to compare this to, we would all be freaking out over how frequently we get such amazing, game changing, updates. Name any other game that has released free updates/DLC that transform your gaming experience as much as the ones for Minecraft do.

The only games I've seen that i've seen that used updates to add new content is MW3, Skyrim, and Minecraft.
