Duping was unintentional, but 4J clearly knows about and ignores the problem
Who says they aren't trying to fix it? They attempted to fix it once before in a bug patch but that just resulted in more glitches. It's probably something that is hard to narrow down like the inventory wiping glitch they haven't been able to fix yet.
How many "real worlds" do you have? I have one, and it isnt pixelated and blocky. Have to work to make money, work cuts into minecraft time, friends and family essentially demand time with me.
You know what I meant. When I say real worlds, I mean non-glitched. I have separate MINECRAFT worlds for duping and pure-survival.
But if you want to get real with me, I have four worlds. Unfortunately, earth is my main world. Then there's music, which is the most enjoyable, love, which is the most emotional, and anger, which is the hardest to manage.
I'm just wondering, is anyone who decries duping planning on using creative mode? The only functional differences are that duping is harder to do, yields less, denies flight, and forces you to gather some of the each material yourself. Duping was unintentional, but 4J clearly knows about and ignores the problem; don't give me any "BUT BUT BUT glitches are bad" crap.
I know this is kind of off topic, but others on this thread brought it up, anyway.
I clearly don't decrie duping. People can do whatever they want with their game and groups of people can agree to follow any different "rules" they want to make up. I'm OK with all of it.
I have never duped, however, because I feel it wasn't worth taking any risk corrupting my save file (and yeah, I know there's lots of people doing it who aren't experiencing file problems). I probably won't start doing it now; particularly with creative mode just around the corner. If they do happen to leave it unpatched and my world winds up toast anyway (because of climate change), I might give it a go just to see if I can learn how to do it.
I do plan to at least sample creative mode and, if I enjoy it, I may just stay in it for the most part. I do very occasionally get a kick out fighting mobs, but it's really not my favorite part of the game. There are better hack and slash games out there if I get bloodthirsty.
Mining does get tedious from time to time; but I can usually find ways to make it a little less so. For example, I might mine a little more recklessly - diving into waterfalls without knowing whether they end in a lava pool or not, etc.
I don't give a rip about leaderboards, so that 4J will disqualify my world from adding to them doesn't matter at all to me.
Why do people always think that they are cool by not duplicating? Like they are special or something. I don't want to start a flame war by all means but I just really hate it when people think that they are smart or cool or special just because they don't duplicate. You are not special or anything, you are just playing the game a different way, that's it. No need to make a thread about it.
Duping will not corrupt your gamesave, ever. This is a Myth. You are welcome.
Neither side has proof that it does, or doesn't, corrupt your save. Seeing as how it's a glitch, an unintended piece of code that wasn't supposed to be there in the first place. It runs and reacts differently to the rest of the game and could have side effects in the process. Glitches have caused save corruption on many, many other games. Why wouldn't it have a chance to do it in Minecraft?
It took me and three other ppl more than 20 hours each to make a hole that was 50x50 to bedrock with duping of tools. Besides how would you say it is cheating. It doesn't give you an unfair advantage over someone else that is playing. It is a dig stuff, build stuff, find stuff game. Now get off of your high horse you made with out cheating and have fun!
Why the hell are you arguing with me? It is clear my post critisices OP's idea on duplication.
