Locked Chests are an item in the game but they have no use and you cannot yet craft them. They emit light and break in one punch.
Now, my question is why would they add them if they wouldn't become something?
Either locked chests in future update or DLC! I'm not sure if they are in PC edition but I don't think so...
They are a plugin in the PC version. Idk what your talking about. wheres your evidence for all this?

They were added to the game for five days on the PC. After that, they were removed. It was Notch's April Fools joke in 2011. The chests took you to a fake shop where you could "buy" things to be added to your Minecraft.

Guys, my name is Ken Lobb and I work at 4J. Some of you might know of the "Klobb" from Goldeneye and Perfect Dark. That was made by me.
Listen, this isn't real. Those chests were a joke made by Notch and the Mojang team way back in 2011 as an April Fools joke. Someone on the internet has recently decided to "re-prank" the minecraft community. I assure you, these won't be available on the Xbox 360 platform.
Pretty sure hes talking about the Steve Co. chest notch put in during 1.6 beta as a bit of a laugh towards Mann Co. store. It was a chest that generated randomly on the surface, and when clicking it, asked if you wanted to go to the Steve Co. store. You people should use this magical thing called the "Minecraft Wiki", it goes for all ports of minecraft.
would be awesome if we would create ourselves a locked chest that nobody but ourselves can brake but can be opened with a key or something that comes with the chest.
