my brother played minecraft in pc a lot but he said that why the game is official but still in the beta version.
i don't know whats the answer but I'm asking experts out there why the game is still in beta?
Minecraft became into official release in 1.00
We are in beta 1.73. We started in beta 1.66
They started making the xbla game back in 2011 when minecraft was in beta 1.6.

Just kidding. Honestly, I have no idea why 4J put MCXB in 1.6.6. Try asking 4JSTeve or 4JStu.

The Xbox 360 Edition is a full game. It is currently equivalent to the PCs 1.7.3, that does not make it a Beta. The Xbox 360 Edition has it's own versions which is currently 1.1.1.
The reason they chose Beta 1.6.6 from the PC as a starting point is because it was the newest, most stable version when they began work on the Xbox 360 Edition.

OT: I think it would be much better if they just started MCXB in 1.0.

I guess your right. But they should have at least put in creative mode because PE and PC started with creative mode.
But they never had an idea of creative then...
