I had a quick question on Minecraft Xbox 360 Eddition:
Can you hatch chickens from eggs yet? I tried with a few, but i didn't get any chickens. If this is not in the game yet, will it be in an update? Thanks
We've been able to hatch eggs since 0.3. (On PC/Ipod version)
If we could do it then, we can do it now.

it should come with the update when you can breed animals but i dont really know
Yes you can, but it's a fairly low probability that a chicken will hatch when you throw the eggs. You can't keep chickens in a pen until the breeding update though, so hatching chickens is pointless atm.
You just need to get a chicken to sit on it longer.

Well... I shouldn't say it's completely pointless to hatch chickens. It's fun to dupe a bunch of eggs and fill your friend's house with chickens. Then you can wait nearby so the chickens don't de-spawn and, when your friend comes back, you can watch the "WTF moment" ensue.
If I remember correctly, I think that is a 1 in 256 chance.

I think it was supposed to be a 1 in 8 chance from a single egg to spawn a chicken but the 1.7.3 update broke it I believe. Prior to that update I made a chicken coop and spawned a bunch of chickens from less than a single stack of eggs. Now I cant even get one to spawn and I dont understand it I have that chicken sit on the egg for hours and nothing. Seriously though, hopefully it will be fixed.

wasnt hatching eggs a part from breeding?
oh but instead of baby chickens there will be normal chickens ok i understand.
