Ok, so I made a Monster spawner. But the only issue is, is there is a light source inside, yet I don't have a light source inside or outside at all. It's all made up of cobble stone and Mossy stone with water on each side so monsters would fall into it and it would then push them into a 50ft drop. I notice when I put blocks down, light would show up beside it. I've checked my TV brightness and the in game gamma settings. Then I took a screen shot of it and it even shows light on my computer. (Screen Shot below) So what's going on?
The light seems to be only above the water though.
Ok, I saved, exited and still light. Even at night or when rainy there is light inside. I clear the water though and the light is gone...
edit: ok. Though re-adding in water still brings the light. I know that it wouldn't affect spawn, but I like it to be completely dark.
I've noticed when putting stairs anywhere a significant amount of light will show next to it at the bottom. I've noticed this since the first release of the game.
Yep, the water. Had the same issue. Just scoop up one water source block into a bucket from each stream, and dump it in again in the same place. I have to do that for each of the 4 streams in my mob spawner every time I go in and plant torches so I can do some work on it.
Is it me... Or is the screenshot just a black image..?

Religion, has actually convinced people, that there's an invisible man, living in the sky, who watches everything you do every minute of the day, and the invisible man has a special list. Of 10 things he doesn't want you to do. And if you do ANY of these ten things he has a special place, full of fire, and smoke, and burning, and torture, and will send you there to suffer and choke and scream for all of eternity... But he still loves you.
It's easier to fix than re-doing the water. I have this problem with every mob spawner I've built. The quickest way I found is to put blocks (usually dirt) in the water near where the light is coming from (you don't have to replace your water source block). It will go dark immediately, then you remove it and everything is fine.
I'm not surprised. Either way, you're forcing the affected blocks to update. But scooping up a bucketful then dumping it right back is no more difficult than putting down a dirt block and then shoveling it back up, unless of course you're not carrying a bucket.

nvrmnd - already solved
