So I saved onto this new world after doing some renevations and decided to play MW3 a bit with some friends. After I was done saving, I chose to join their invite(did not go to main menu on Minecraft). When I returned to Minecraft, I spawned at the initial spawn point even though I saved, I lost all the stuff in my inventory. The changes in the world I did stayed. I was a bit confused and frusted seeing as I lost all my diamond armor and Diamond tools I had in my inventory. I tried to pay no mind and recreate my inventory. I thought it was because I didn't go back to the main menu.
After a few more changes, I decided to see if it was because I didn't go back to the main menu that all my items were gone. I saved and exited and reloaded the world and yet again I lost all my stuff from my inventory and spawned at the initial spawn point instead of the spot I saved. However, all the changes I have done to world is still there.
I am wondering if anyone else is having the same problems?
Yes. Known bug. Have you had many people visit your world? This is a suspected cause. Workaround until 4J gets their shi . . . , er, fixes the problem: store everything in a chest before saving & quitting.
Yes, I have multiple people visiting my world at times. Must store everything in chest, gotcha. Ghe most annoying part to me is always walking back to where I was working at from the initial spawn.I'll just add the link of that thread here so the people who come here can be redirected.
just had this problem as well. My inventory was pretty loaded which makes it a bit discouraging, but oh well. I still have lots in storage anyway
I tried looking into mcedit and moving the players around. I tried playing offline seeing as I think I was last playing with my internet connection offline. No luck.
This is a thread on the XBox forum. We're not yet at version 1.2.5. For the XBox, this bug existed prior to the 1.8.2 update. 4J fixed it in the 1.8.2 update and I've not heard of any reports of it happening on the XBox since then. You may want to report this on the PC forum, so that it get looked into on Mojang's end.
