This has been known for probably a month now. It's one of the issues labeled sever in the bug report thread. I'm sure 4J will handle it as soon as possible.

Dang first one listed too..
It never happened before. I wander what was the source cause to bring it out now.

Thanks for info
Have you had a lot of people visit your world? The general theory is it's most likely caused by too many inventories in one save. A person's inventory isn't saved to their own Xbox while they are in someone else's world. Everyone who has been on your map, while you saved, will have their inventory stored into the same file that holds your world.

I have had ALOT of folks on my world...
any idea to fix...
maybe re invite them have them leave inv blank, gain some inv spots back i guess.?
when you save and exit how do you do it? 4j and others have been advising people to just save the game then exit without saving since the bug seems like it happens mostly when people click save and exit. i've always saved then exited without saving for some reason and ive never experienced the bug.

I have had it happen without a lot of people visiting a world, so I personally dispute that theory. I have read of one person who fixed the issue by taking their XBox offline, playing in the that world offline for a bit, then saving and exiting, and then re-hooking up the XBox online. They indicated that the spawn/inventory bug disappeared (at least for a time) after that. It's worth a try. (NOTE: I am currently playing offline and my one incident of it happening in my current world did happen before I went offline. I'm not planning to hook back online, though, until the 1.8.2 update is released and then only to download that update since the TV I play on is not enabled for our WiFi network and my XBox is an older one without WiFi capability.)
ETA: My friend's kids have also had it happen to them a few times and they probably have had only about 4 different gamertags in their worlds (unless some people have hacked into their worlds without them knowing it).

I don't mean too many items in various inventories, I mean inventories themselves. Even empty inventories are saved to the file. But, like someone else said, this might not even be the issue. I don't have personal experience with this bug, I just know what I've gathered from other people. Try playing offline, like the person above me said, I've read where someone did this and it worked while they were in offline mode, then went back to failing once online.
You are actually pretty close if not correct about the cause. I have read in a couple other forums (which i wont link) where people who have modded their XBox, have found the file/folder whatever containing the data and cleared it and then reloaded their maps and the problem was fixed. I can't say I have done it personally because I don't have a modded XBox. it might be a good place to start looking for 4J though.

I haven't modded my XBox either and never would even consider it. My XBox is just not currently hooked up to an internet connection. I physically move it to a different TV where I can tie it into the internet in order to download any updates that come along and might play online once or twice before moving it back into the other room. When another poster indicated that they thought they had fixed their inventory bug issue by going offline for a bit is when I remembered that the only time I've been hit with this particular bug was when I was playing while connected to the internet just after downloading the August bug fix update. (ETA: I did have a similar incident in a world started prior to the 1.7.3 update; but it was a little weird in that I did not spawn at the initial spawn point but in a bed that I had previously destroyed. I eventually put that off onto a compatibility issue between the 1.6.6 world and the 1.7.3 update and deleted that particular world.)
With the August incident, I probably wasn't even technically playing "online" since I probably did uncheck the "online game" option. I would have at least made it "invite only" and I did not invite anyone on that day to play with me. When I do play with other people, it is via local splitscreen only; but that particular world (since it is my main building world) has never had anyone but me play in it even locally. So, that the inventory bug happened to me once kind of shoots down the theory that it is related to a lot of people visiting a world.
My friend's kids play on an XBox that is hooked up to a WiFi connection. Since they're younger, my friend doesn't really want them playing online on other servers or having "friends" who they really don't know in on their worlds... so the kids have been taught to uncheck the "online game" option. However, being kids they probably do sometimes forget to do this. (Personally, I would like to see the default for selecting an online game flipped from what it is now, so that the default is an offline game and a person has to intentionally put their world online. Along with this, rather than having to check "invite only," I would like to also see the default be "invite only" and the option be to intentionally remove the "invite only" stipulation.)

I tired all possible different ways..
Save and Exit
Save then Exit
Save Via Cloud and Exit
Save Via HD and Exit
It can be easily Fixed by keeping most recent at top of max inv/location saves.I

I got what you meant sir...and was only thinking how to remove the oldest saved inv.
Maybe a fix is to keep the most active saves (ie INV and LOCATION save (not game save)) on top and players who dont come in for a while face the chance of ti being bumped off for newer saves...

In that case, it would mean too many items in the inventories. Btw, you don't need a JTAG or any sort of replacement BIOS chip in your Xbox to use inventory mods. It is considered soft-modding and only requires some sort of USB storage, an internet connection, and a couple programs.

Could you provide some info on that, I would like to fix this please.

Sorry, but I can't, it's against forum rules. But, it's not against forum rules to say that Google is your friend, and that a program I may or may not use for this could possibly rhyme with G bix-bee grebb-uh-flooshun.

just had this problem as well. My inventory was pretty loaded which makes it a bit discouraging, but oh well. I still have lots in storage anyway
I tried looking into mcedit and moving the players around. I tried playing offline seeing as I think I was last playing with my internet connection offline. No luck.

This was in PC version 1.2.5 single player
No need to duplicate post to the XBox forum. Please see my response on the other thread.
my MCX360 game wont save my location or inv
it saves game and changes to game, but not my inv or location.
(the map resets too)
places me back at new players start (center of map)
clears my inv
Tried sleeping in different beds, trying both save types and clearing cache.
Any ideas?
