Well I've Bin Reading alot that 200 Items is around the most items you can have on the floor at one time.
So on one of the Topics i was reading An Admin jokingly said someone make a Huge wheat farm to find out... So i did for the fun of it. At The Bottom It will tell you how many seeds i used and what i Got back.
The Farm
Seeds Used - 1,925
Wheat Returned - 93
Seeds Returned - 159
Total - 253
So yes I believe it is True That the Item limit is around 200-300.
That does seem kind of disappointing since you planted all those seeds and only got 253 items back. It was very informative though.
Thats Pretty much why i did it, just to i guess inform people the 200-300 Item cap on the floor is a little true. just hope the post stays up long enough haha.
Do you think that you were close enough to the items so that none despawned?
I know that so did despawn because of the drop limit, but maybe more did because of your distance from them.
Maybe Ill have to try it out after i add some red stone stuff to it.
256 would make sense. It's the largest number of items that 8 bits (one byte) can reference (index). It's a possibility anyway. Thanks for running the experiment.

I was at the Bottom Collecting them while a friend was letting the water down. They were just randomly Disapearing while more wheat was being broken.
Thats a WHOLE LOT of bread!
