This is so strange- at first, we thought the controller broke- but then I (being the one who bought the game, and thus, always player 1) swapped controllers and found out that both controllers work perfectly fine....
...but the moment player 2 joins, their controller stops working and their head is in a static, still state. They can walk around just fine- jump, put down blocks, ect- but they cannot look around.
Yes. and we use an HDTV. Like I said- we were playing it split screen thursday. Last night, however, it wouldn't work, and still has the same effect today.
The controllers work fine- I've used both under my account as player one. But with player two, they simply crap out

Anyone else experiencing this?
It was working fine just two days ago....
Have had it happen once or twice. Have Player 2 go into their "Help and Options" menu and check the control settings. This is a known bug with Minecraft arbitrarily setting the sensitivities to 0%. 4JSteve wrote about it in the Official Bugs List (pinned). Hopefully, they have found a fix for it in the next update.
This happened to me and my wife the other day. To fix it go into the minecraft control settings on the second player and you have to turn the sensitivities up because it turns itself to 0 for some reason.
This happened to me twice while I was playing online. I checked the sensitivity and it was normal. I just walked side to side and then I could move my head.
I have had this happen twice to me. Right now, for the second time it has done this. last time I just deleted the game and redownloaded it and it worked. Now this second time all the settings were at 100% and after deleting the game and going back to download again it is asking me to purchase for 1600 credits....
What should I do now as now we are left with no minecraft. Should I contact Xbox and tell them my predicament. Would they be able to replace my game at no charge?

Not sure why you were deleting the entire game to fix this issue when all you had to do was go into "Help & Options" = "Settings" = "Reset to Defaults"... and then re-adjust any setting that you might like to be different than the defauls. You should not have to repurchase the game IF you are downloading it using the same account and gamertag that purchased the game in the first place. If not, you will have to do a license transfer (online) from the account and gamertag that purchased the game over to the account and gamertag you are currently using. If there is a different problem regarding the status of your Live account, you will have to contact Microsoft and work it out with them.
Yeah I had this happen to me too once (way back in 1.7.3! The update i miss! :`( ) We couldn't figure out what was wrong, but eventually it fixed itself. I'm EXTREMELY surprised that 4J hasn't fixed it yet!

I believe that back then I read a post or comment by someone from 4J that they were not able to fix it completely. There are different versions of controllers out there in the marketplace, so it might be a sort of compatibility issue with certain ones. The two times it happened to me were both before I bought a new controller (when I essentially wore out my left stick trying to learn to sprint).
I know this is a really old post but I am having a similar problem. Player 2 can move their head but when you move your head right it moves your head right but up at the same time, and when you move your head left it moves your head down. I have an HDTV, the controller is USB and I have tried updating, reseting controls to default or whatever its called XD Please help!
