It seems the community here has more than a few people that are "bored", need creative encouragement, or are feeling less challenged lately as they begin to anticipate the next update. My solution is to hold a series of challenges every week, and maybe see some new ideas or at least give us all something to do. I'll create a new post next week with a new challenge (I figure a week is long enough to give everyone time to participate).
And to begin:
THIS WEEKS CHALLENGE:Grass Art
Bonemeal when placed on grass will grow tall grasses and random flowers. Players are challenged to use this method to create a work of art to share with the community.
TIPS:
* Grass color varies depending on biome.
* Cut grass that is the "wrong color" and reapply bonemeal. Repeat to create interesting patterns.
* Sometimes less is more, use negative space for a different effect.
* Elevation matters. Not every canvas needs to be flat.
* Flowers can be used, but are not required.
FAQs
Q: How do I participate?
A: Follow the challenge directions, take a picture, post it here.
Q: How do I vote? What do I win?
A: Vote by posting something nice for the creator to read. You get to read a bunch of nice things about something you made. (seriously - this is for fun, be nice to eachother)
Q: This was fun! What's next?
A: I will post a new build challenge every week (late Wed eve), as long as people participate. Search for the "Build Challenge" tag.
I haven't started on my entry yet as this is a fairly fresh idea. (Also, I want to participate and it'd be unfair if I had a head start). Feedback welcome. If you have challenge ideas, please PM me rather than post here so we can keep it a surprise.

Retired Staffoh that's nice you say "brilliant idea" and then you follow it up with a moon
I tried to sign my name here, but all I managed to do was ruin my computer screen.
