A few days ago, I gave a tour of my city known as Waterstone. Had to of
known a griefer was going to show up, so I turned auto save off. Of course,
the ******* showed, and slaughtered me with an iron sword while my back
was turned. He left and removed me from his friends list. He didn't show
up on recent players either. From there on I had a burning rage inside me.
That type of rage where you are made a fool out of but it's impossible to
reply or get revenge on whatever happened. I soon let it become void
from my mind, and began to relax.
Suddenly, one of my newly made friends made a video showcasing my city.
He was filming the entire time I gave the tour. He posted it on youtube and
I really enjoyed it. While I'm watching the video, I notice that he caught a glimpse
of the griefer. My eyes widened, and I hopped on xbox and sent him a little
message. He replied "lol dude it's just a game". Are you serious? This is what
griefers think? This is what they base their logic on? You have to be kidding.
So I sent him a message. "Ok" I said. "You're building a puzzle in a corner of the
room. You're 80% done with it, you're so excited, and then you see me walk over
to you. I kick down the puzzle and light it on fire. Does that make sense? No, it
really ****ing doesn't". So I think I proved my point.
I just truly think the entire concept of griefing should be completely destroyed.
It's mindless and idiotic. It serves no purpose but to infuriate people.
And I apologize about the whole ranting thing. I don't usually make threads
like this. Feel free to add your opinions or stories of griefers as well. And I
welcome people to flame me, I'd be happy to report you immediately
Dude, I hear ya. I hate it when someone you think you know just comes up and kills you for no apparent reason, breaks your bed and robs your chests. What's the video name?
I'm with ya porkchop, and I have to say I'm not surprised the only thing that little turd had in his mind was "lol dude its just a game". Yeah, right. And when one of us finds him in RL, we can tell him "lol dude, it was just your face"
Man I really hate griefers! May I add you and come see your world it looks sweet from the video!! You can see my world also
Well we already have a lot of residence, so I'll give you a tour I guess.
But this isn't that type of thread. I just don't want this thread to get
spammed with 'add me' messages. Go ahead and friend me, I'll
give you a tour.
dude for sure. greifers are an intolerable blight on the games universe. there is no point to there exsitance. except. and please pardon the qoute. "they just want to watch the world burn". why is that.
so, a friend of a friend, hits me up, pops into my world. didnt even know he was there. until he poped in on my project,. i saw a few of my chests had been destroyed. i messaged him, whyed you destroy my chest. his response "i didnt... but look here"... the little twerp destroyed my house, set it on fire ransaked my other house and set all the wood parts on fire, so i kicked him. deleted him. next message... "what hapened" "well sun you got kicked" "why" the idiot actually had the nerve to try and play it off and posted signs that said. herobrine was here misspelled btw.. well kid didnt know who he pissed off and how much my friends respect me. we booby-trapped his house. 15 blocks of tnt for a 7x7 structure set up with a pressure plate detinator..... bye bye greifer. and your little stupid house.
I wish it was possible for there to be a pinned thread or something along those lines where people post the usernames/GT's of any griefer that has griefed them. Then if somebody recognizes a username/GT they will know to kick them immediately. If the thread was used properly, that would make griefers too terrified to grief because their reputation would be destroyed, and nobody would want to play MP with them.
He replied "lol dude it's just a game". Are you serious? This is what

You pretty much gave him the exact response he was looking for. Griefers do what they do to **** people off. It's even better for them when they get a reaction out of the victims.
I don't agree with griefing, but I do agree that it's just a game.
I just truly think the entire concept of griefing should be completely destroyed.

Griefing isn't just in video games. Video games just provide it with a new outlet to make people suffer. It's human nature for some to enjoy the suffering of others. So until humans evolve past that, griefing will stay in video games.
doesn't quite work that way; hardcore griefers or trolls just make new accounts. Again another reference to my L4D days, but we used to come across regular MLG/Gamebattles scrubs trying it on all the time, and you can tell straight away who it is because it's the same **** gameplay just a different name. Given that you get a free 30 days on Xbox live just for creating an account, creating a "list" will never work.
Yeah I know, I wasn't actually proposing doing it. That's why I put the "a man can dream" at the bottom hahaha, I see your point though. Only in a perfect world would my wish ever come true.

Very true. Better to have the little shits occupying their time burning down your MC house than burning down your real life home. Even as frustrating as griefing might be.
Just leave auto-save turned off. Better yet, turn off the option to let friends of friends join. The only people I allow into the world are people I trust. Even then I have auto save disabled. It's my world. I'll save it when I feel the time is called for. With the options we have at our disposal, there is no reason to be griefed on MC360.

Well my point is that it's insane that people will go out of their way
to deliberately destroy something other people love. The fact that they
take pleasure from ruining somebody's free time sickens me.
I know it's better if it's in a game than real life. The reason that there is more
people that do it on online videogames than in real life just means that they do
it with the knowledge that they won't get in trouble. I guess all of the 10 year
olds that do it now have a higher chance of growing up to become an arsonist
or terrorist or serial killer at the most.

It's not insanity. It's anarchy (be it at a pre-school level). It's basic human nature. The only way to combat that type of degenerate is to always be prepared for it. Don't auto-save. Don't open your world to strangers. With the safeguards in place, there's no reason to be griefed and (unfortunately) you're partly to blame. Lesson learned.
Of course they do it because they know they won't get into trouble. That pea-brained mentality is prevalent on XBox Live, in any game.
Is it bad that I got mad when my friend destroyed half my house that took me around 2 hours to complete?
I kicked him from the game and he got very mad, he told me that he was going to hack me. I laughed at him and he left the party. He is the least intelligent griefer that has ever set foot on this Earth.
Anyways...
griefing is annoying. It's not "cool" or "funny".

I turned auto save off, as I mentioned before. And I did say I was prepared,
so I shouldn't have learned any lesson, for I already did a long time ago.
