not sure how to post pics and upload to comeputer but its small. you use a butten to send power to the block with the tourch then the tourch goes to a repeater that turns on and off

Why do that? It's already hosted on Facebook, just copy it from there.
It only works while you're standing in the vicinity of the contraption right? I assume it's like all my contraptions that once I'm far enough way, they freeze.

They shouldn't freeze unless the clock is too fast, in which case it can freeze at any time. I have built a clock and laid down a line of redstone dust all the way across the map, and the line was still blinking.

I remember from the redstone discovery thread that there was some questions as whether this worked becasue you were standing by the line of dust and that contraption would shut down if you moved away from them and there was no "connection" back to their chunk in the form of a dust line. Did we ever confirm or repudiate this?
thats good to know, i built a 1hr time but didnt really use it as i though it wouldnt work if im not in the area, might have to go an try it
It might have had something to do with the circuit actually leading to me, but I highly doubt that. I was replicating a similar experiment done on the PC version, where the OP only made it 288 meters (18 chunks) away from the clock before the chunk unloaded and the line stopped blinking. A rapid pulser restarded the clock when the chunk was loaded again, which happened when he was within 144 meters (9 chunks).
I performed the experiment out of curiosity, expecting similar results. I was startled to find I could stretch the line all the way across the length of the map, and the clock still worked flawlessly.
Here is the thread if you would like to look at this in further detail:

No, we didn't, but I don't think a redstone signal can force a chunk to load. Who knows, it might on MCXBLA, but it certainly doesn't work on PC, on their version you can only force chunks to load with a mine cart.

Seems like it ought to be easy to test once we get sprinting and superflats in the next update. Build a giant cobblestone generator with a series of "Stacks" (like the self-repairing bridge in the tutorial world) turn it on and run away to the opposite edge of the board. Wait until the the clock should have had enough time to fill the stacks and then come back - if the stacks aren't filled the clock stopped working.

You wouldn't even have to do that, just build the clock by itself. If it's froze when you come back, the chunk unloaded. If it's still running, the chunk was always loaded.
A clock made only with repeaters will never restart itself.

from there i just expermented
EDIT: sounds like all you did was create a repeating loop... not a clock.

Retired StaffA repeating loop is a clock, hoss.

thats what i did its cool because it pushs them right up to the main door like a wall
