Minecraft is a game about building, surviving come 1.8.2, and honestly doing things that are just awesome.
But, before you can get to the point of being awesome at Minecraft you have to understand the Basics.
The First thing you need to understand the controls of the game. A: Jumps. Creates items in the Crafting menu. Pick up items in your inventory. B: Drops item highlighted on your hotbar. Exits from menus. X: Opens the Crafting Menu. Y: Opens the Inventory Menu. Left Stick: Moves around. Moves Cursor in menus. Right Stick: Looks Around Left Trigger: Action for Object highlighted. Right Trigger: Mines Highlighted Block.
Difficulties: Peaceful: Your health always regenerates and no monsters will spawn. Easy: Monsters will spawn, your health does not regenerate, but the mobs are still pretty easy to kill. Normal: Same as Easy, but slightly harder. Hard: Extremely hard, and one misstep will probably cause your demise.
The Mobs:
Zombie: A 2 block high mob that makes grunting sounds. Looks like a Human Health: 10 Hearts Damage Done: Easy: 1.5 Hearts Normal: 2 Hearts Hard: 3 Hearts Drops: Feathers
Skeleton: A 2 block high mob that is an archer and will shoot you with arrows. Health: 10 Hearts Damage Done: Easy: 1 Heart Normal: 1.5 to 2 Hearts. Hard: 2 to 3 Hearts Drops: Bones and Arrows
Creeper: A 2 block high mob that explodes when it is near to you. (Avoid Contact near things you don't want destroyed.) Health: 10 Hearts Damage Depends on how close you are to explosion. Drops: Gunpowder
Spiders: A 1 block high, 2 blocks wide mob that is the same speed as you. Health: 8 Hearts Damage Done: Easy: 1 Hearts Normal: 1 Heart Hard: 1.5 Hearts Drops: String
Slime: A Mob that has 3 different forms (Big, Medium, and Small.) Only spawn on certain 16x16 chunks. Health: Big: 8 Hearts Medium: 2 Hearts Small: .5 Hearts Damage Done: Big: 2 Hearts Medium: 1 Heart Small: No Damage Drops: Slimeballs (Only from Small Slimes)
Ghast: A Mob that spawns in the Nether, and will shoot "Flame Charges" at you that explode. Health: 5 Hearts Damage Depends on how close you are to explosion.
Zombie Pigmen: Will only attack you if you attack them. Come in packs. Health: 10 Hearts Damage Done: Easy: 1.5 Hearts Normal: 2.5 Hearts Hard: 3.5 Hearts.
