Passives not respawning combined with no animal breeding. That's going to make getting as much stuff from passives at the start a priority, right after food. Especially wool, since the wolves will run around killing all the sheep until there are none left.
Other than that, I'm looking forward to it all... whenever that happens to be ;).

i hope that i don't need to make a new world to have the updates of version 1.8 also one thing i'm not looking forward to is cave spiders. Cave spiders are in version 1.8 right? I'm pretty sure they are...
only very slowly and very rarely (according to various replies I've read). All indications are that (if they follow the PC coding as they have been doing) animals will not respawn with any frequency that approaches replacement rate.
Fortunately, sheep are the easiest animal to manage because you actually get more wool from them by keeping them alive. I'm most worried about chickens for feathers, with the glitches that we have identified in egg-hatching, getting enough chickens for eggs (to spawn new chickens, and cakes) will seriosuly turn minecraft into chickencraft.
yeah what is this all about? ive seen and heard alot now about the PC seed terrain being poorer now? if this is the case please 4J do not go down the same route... to lose some of the epic seeds we have now on the xbox edition will be saddening
They are going that route. There is no point in arguing for them not to, because they are updating the game and the terrain generation change is part of the update. If you really want the old terrain generation, better make your map(s) now, though you won't get any of the new terrain generation features.

I just don't understand HOW or WHAT has changed with terrian to cause so much annoyance. Can someplace explain? What will be so different?

Nothing has changed yet. The changes are coming with the next update.
Even so, I wouldn't say I'm annoyed with it. Change happens and I will adapt regardless. New biomes and terrain features are being added (jungles, ravines, mineshafts, and strongholds); and I am looking forward to these features.
Still, I do have some concerns as to how they may get mashed into unexplored pockets of my current world and how the climate may change even in the fully explored areas of my world. I would prefer if they made an option somehow to allow us to decide whether we just want to keep the old terrain in our old world or have the system attempt to update it and add in the new terrain. That would probably be a complicated option to program in though, so I'm not holding my breath for that.

From what I understand, they made it more "realistic", so like how we get the crazy mountains and cliff overhangs and valleys right now, that doesn't really happen in the PC version(except for extreme hills biomes). This causes for flat ground, and not really interesting areas to look at.

I don't think we'll be getting jungles til 1.2.3 but ravines,abandoned mineshafts,and strongholds we'll have

Thanks for correcting me. I'm sorry, I thought jungles were for sure and strongholds were the maybe. ;D Truthfully, I didn't check before posting and this whole update keeps getting bandied about so much and so many threads have even been deleted on it that I've, quite frankly, completely lost track.
The lighting
Sprinting
Hunger
Horrid terrain
Less sword damage
Endermen
Villages
Swamps
Huge Oceans
Rotten flesh instead of feathers
Did I mention I hate the Post 1.7.3 Terrain?
That's your opinion. I know people who don't play Minecraft anymore because of 1.8.
it all sounds awesome... hunger, enderman(not sure what they are but i hear bad things) larger oceans its whatever..im always up for a challenge...im just going to be pissed if they try and make use pay for it..hows 800 microsoft poinst for adventure mode sound to you guys? to me it sounds like something Bill Gatese is totally up for... Bah Humbug!

We won't pay for it. 4J has repeatedly said that updates will be free.

I always see people all over the internet whining about how we might have to pay for updates. Not just for Minecraft but for every digital product out there, but I've never seen any corporation charge consumers for updates. So why is everybody always talking about it?
All they have to do to make you pay for it is change it from an update to DLC... and im not complaining or whining or whatever im just saying is all....have you guys not thought about it?

Except they won't. Title Updates are not DLC. 1.8.2 Title Update will NOT be DLC. Title Updates are FREE. And even if they decided to make it DLC, it can still be free.
