Allo, To start this off I just want to clarify this isn't me recruiting people to join my servers. It's for my questions, tips, concerns on how to most effecintely run my Economy Server in a fool proof way.
My Minecraft friends and I recently got bored with just building so we decided to try our hands at maintaining a currency server. So far its gone good but to be pro-active I want to learn what any of you have to say and if any of you can give helpful tips on how to have an efficient economy system and what works best in your experiance.
We have an excelent walled off city (Difficulty is :Normal With a house for every person, Excellent roads/infastructure, an easy to access mine with much oppurtunity to find valuable recourses, Town square, A casino (I run it) and other certain odds and ends shops. Along with a powerhouse farming building in the back (Wheat farm and tree farm) [Wish I could post pics but... Laziness man]
The economy is paper. Their are set prices for the most used items (I.E, Recourses) anything else is set by the shop owners itself as long it is ok'd by the me (The government as i love to say )
My system is quite clear, each new player starts with 100 paper, I am the sole owner and over-seer of the paper output. to avoid inflation (Obviously) I never put out paper at my own will just to buy Cobble stone or whatever, I make sure I have the money that has been earned instead.
At that, Our system is more of a capitalist system in which theirs no specified job, you kinda just find what works best for you and if certain aspects change your most the free to change with it.
So, Should their be set jobs? I do have one rule where I advise people to "avoid" Cutting wood, That doesn't mean I send out guard patrols looking for people that chop down trees, but simply, its just better for the economy if they just buy it.
I'm very excited for the 1.8 update to be coming out because of the hunger bar, I feel this will give our excellent farm and massive wheat output much more meaningful and get money flowing around better.
Any tips of how to get money to always be flowing? That's kinda of a weird thing to ask but basically, how to get people to be so grubby with their money and spend it more freely.
Last point to touch up on. Since I am the self appointed government, how is the best way about building new public buildings when it comes to getting recourses? Do I just tell the miners tough luck, I need 8 stacks of cobblestone? I can't pay for that on my own since it's clearly coming out of my pocket for a Public building.
There is no way to make a good currency with the limited player counts on the xbox servers and the option of duping(cheating). Main flaw people only need so much in minecraft like once they get enough land and build a dream house thats it for big spending. Then they tend to get most items they need themselves and horde there money. All 1.8 will do is make everyone build there own farm to get food needs met.
Since you are the government you'll need to make more money and put the government into debt building these public buildings. So you'll then need an income for the government(bank, taxes, land sells) so it can get out of debt. You dont want to have a government with unlimited money without consequence because you'll only inflate the overall money market making all items value falsely high.
1 tip i can give you is alot of ppl wont read through all that, in forums keep it short !!
This guy is right if you want answers from little kids with most likely bad ideas keep it short. But if you want someone to know the whole situation and give a thought out intelligent suggestion then dont change a thing. Because if they dont have the patience to read this not to long winded thread then I doubt they have the patience to give this idea/problem any real thought for a resolution.

Dumb down my posts? Jeeze, I guess I've been spending to much time at the politics section I guess.
It's not like it's just one big block of wall text lol. You can easily read through it in about 2-3 mins. I get what you guys are saying though.
@omega, I appreciate your suggestions and have put some into consideration. You raise some good points as well. But the one about people just starting their own farm, I'll just restrict any other farms aside from the main one \("-)/
