I am wondering if, after the 1.8 update, I will be able to have the option to choose if I want to load my world in creative mode or survival? Reason being is that I want to gain access to some things in my world that I wont be able to otherwise without hacking my xbox. (ie having melon seeds in a pre 1.8 world and some pumpkins, seeing as my world has none)
Also, I am wondering if any animals will spawn in at all after the update. I know that animals dont respawn post-1.8,but I am wondering if my world will be a wasteland devoid of liffe after the update? (i trapped 2 cows to breed further in the future and duplicated chicken eggs for a food supply just in case) Or maybe I could use animal spawn eggs if I have the ability to do what I mentioned above?
I just want to do this because I have put a lot of time into my world and dont want to start over.
If this is one of those things nobody knows about yet, please let me know. Thanks
Yes, you will be able to choose how you want to load your world(either creative or survival) whenever you start it up. This will allow you to add things your world didn't spawn with. As for animals respawning, it has already been confirmed by 4J that they do actually respawn, it is just rare. So while you may have a barren area for a bit, especially if they don't bring breeding forward, it is still possible to get all the animals with them being able to respawn.

When the update for animals came out on the PC, I had an area in my world that was barren of animals for a real life week before more respawned.

yes u can choose creative or survival every time u load a world
