I have 2 questions, so instead of making 2 topics, I'll combine them.
Any help is appreciated. I may not respond as I read the forums on my iPad but reply with my laptop.
Question 1:
Can anyone link me to a video which shows the following:
A double piston extender, which removes two blocks above it, pulls them down, and then back so they open a secret room?
I know codecrafted has one, but since we cannot place upsidedown half slabs or put redstone on slabs, this will not work.
Question 2:
I need some help with my slime farm.
I cleared out 3 slime chunks, in a backwards L shape (all are chunks). I placed it at Y=4 (or first bedrock layer) and dug up till Y=8 (9 being the ceiling).
I know these are slime chunks, but when I turn it on hard/normal/easy and go 24-30 blocks away for an extended period of time (tried 5,10,15,20, and 25 minute intervals) no slimes spawn. The area is well lit (slimes DO SPAWN on torches, but I put torches on walls and the ceiling.
I haven't lit up any nearby caves, but previous farms have worked without this.
Can anyone help with these? Any help is appreciated and will be repped once I get back on my laptop.
I couldn't find any videos. Sorry. I think slimes not spawning is a glitch and will probably get fixed in 1.8. Also try looking up slime farms on youtube or the wiki.

No they dont spawn on torches, no mob ever will. Because the block is being occupied by that torch. They may spawn next to it. Not on it.
Light up your caves and I guarantee you 100% you will get slimes.

Not sure if its exactly what you're after ^
He's right. Don't place an excessive amount of torches, and you should be fine.
