New mobs, terrain, crafting, etc. are coming in 1.8.2.

Really? The "bug fix update" just fixed bugs? Ya don't say! You're complaining about it now, but if they updated the game without ever fixing bugs, then you would be bitching about how they don't put out enough patches to fix glitches. There is just no reasoning with you guys. If someone manages to get it through one of you peoples' heads, another one herpderps around the corner, ignoring the search bar.
