This at first was quite tolerable because I thought they would
fix it, but it is still here today. I can't see my entire tool when
I'm using it!
However, you can see the entire object in your hand on an HD
television, but not on a regular one.
"Wow, that's a really stupid thing to complain about" Well you
don't understand. I'm sure seeing the entire object in your hand
adds to the true MC experience, but unfortunately I'm left to
only see the first half of my tool. It gets really irratating after
a while. Anybody else have this happen to them?
My 22" T.V. is in 720p, so I didn't even know the difference! I do know that HD makes a difference though. I mean, you have to use an HDMI cable to play with 2-4 players on the same Xbox 360.

Basically, my guess is they programmed it with HD in mind. Which means that when you play on and SDTV, it stretches the screen to fix the aspect ratio, which is why you don't see everything. I am sure they could fix it, but I don't think they will. Granted I am not someone effected by this, so my opinion might not matter much, but I don't see it as a high priority for them.

Its not the game but your TV. CRT TVs have huge amounts of overscan and they are all different. One way to verify this is someone with an HDTV switches to SD resolutions on there HDTV are able to see the tool/item that you complain about not seeing. If they added overscan adjustments this would solve your annoyance.

I know it's the TV, that's the whole point.

Nobody said it was the game, we know it's the TV.
So then if you know what the problem is then why are you bothering the rest of us on this forum with this? And not asking for the proper fix an overscan adjustment in the options. That would have been a much better topic and way to approach it, Like please add this feature etc..

Did you not read the thread? I said they should
fix this problem and I asked who else is experiencing it.
I didn't ask how I could fix it.

Well common sense would have answered your question, instead of your unclear request. And for one its not a problem its a problem for you. The game is not giving you an extra feature of the option to change overscan does not mean the game is broken only your TV per say.
On the highest setting so I could play with my family, the tools and whole game just looked slightly out of wack. When I went back down to 480i everything went back to normal and I could see my whole tool.
I also tried minecraft on an older tv, it was not happening at all. I could not even see the hotbar or the tool in hand at all.
Not exactly sure what they could do to fix it, or is it just strictly a tv/technology issue?

That's what I'm thinking.
Hopefully they find a way to fix it. It gets
really annoying after a while.

I had this problem, when one day I played on my living room TV and switched my resolution from "Normal" to "Widescreen" It looked fine on the HD TV. So I kept it that way. When I put it back on my SD TV on the widescreen format, I could see the whole tool again. I know you're not looking for a way to fix it, but if you ever do that's how.

question:
who else is experiencing it
answer:
EVERYONE with SDTV
