Can someone help me with hidden stairs? I have one switch the removes sandstone that hides the stairs. I want another lever down the stairs, will I need an XOR gate, or can I just hook up some redstone to the pistons and a lever?
If you want switches in different places, you probably want to use pushbuttons wired to a flip flop. Each time you push a button, the flip flop will switch states, giving you a toggle switch that can be activated from multiple points.

Now, instead of attaching the pushbutton directly to the flip flop, attach a line of blocks coming out of that same spot at ground level, with redstone on top of them. Then you can attach pushbuttons anywhere on that line, and achieve the same result. The output goes to your stairs mechanism.
