I'm not sure if someone asked this before, but I can't find any topics on it. I've noticed on the PC version there's fishing line when using the fishing rod but not on the XBLA edition. Is this a bug or is intended? Thanks

Well, in the past on the Pc, only single player had the fishing line, while multiplayer didn't.
Minecraft Xbox 360 Edition is constantly running multiplayer at all times, even when playing alone. So, there is no fishing line. This is fixed eventually though. So I guess it's a bug.
I know. What I meant was, are they looking into adding it in the future or is it permanent. Anyone can say something like "they will probably add it in the future," but maybe a little confirmation from 4J would be nice. Kind of like how they confirmed the reason why the XBLA version has smaller worlds than PC - was because of hardware limitations.
Can you use the fishing to do anything other then fish for fish, i have seen squid swimming and tried to catch them using the fishing rod and can't seem to do it, tis very annoying.
I don't know about squid; but I do know that if you hit a wolf with the hook (even accidentally), that wolf and all his friends get very, very angry (been there, done that once... and died) You can, apparently, bring any of the land-based mobs closer to you by reeling them in; but when I tried it with a sheep I still found it only worked some of the time and the process was somewhat frustrating overall.
Fishing rods can lure animals closer. like a lasso in a way. So yes fishing is just a secondary function...lol
I have tried this many times with no luck. It just seems to hurt the animal and doesn't lure them in at all. Is there a special way you have to do it, like be a certain distance or aim for certain places on the animals body?

I'm also having this same problem with luring animals. If there is a trick to it, I'd sure like to know as well.
No trick... I guess I left out the fact that it does take a lot of patience. And like the post above me mentioned, it hurts the animal slightly, plus not so easy to pull off every time. It is one thing very tedious to learn. Even I have problems with it, but didn't spend enough time to do too much of that sort of testing and luring. You must be really dead on to pull them close. However the trickiest part is the fact they will run away as if you attacked them so.... and the fact they usually immediately start walking off, usually in the opposite direction that you want them to go.
Much easier to cart them to a pen. Or even herd them in...lol

Retired StaffRead through this thread. It's not a bug, just an incomplete feature.

Yeah I do all the time
