I've been thinking about this for awhile. Possibly 4J could implement something into Creative Mode, similar to the World Edit mod. It would be a lot clunkier with a controller, but better than nothing.
There would be a special item, only available in Creative Mode, like the wooden axe used in World Edit. You could use the right and left triggers to set coordinates, just like on PC. The D-pad up and down could expand/contract, left and right buttons could set the amount you want to stack, and the B button could actually paste. I'm sure 4J could come up with a better control scheme for this, it's just to give you an idea.
Leave me your thoughts. Please keep any ignorant comments to yourself, I don't want to see anybody say, "DIS IDEEA ST00PID!! ME WANT UPDAYTz FERST!!"
Ya durr. We all want the updates first, I'm not saying this should happen tomorrow. I just think it would be a cool feature to add to the game IN THE FUTURE. This would immensely benefit redstone engineers, like myself. It would also be helpful to other types of builders, like those building RPG and adventure worlds.
I don't expect to get anything like world edit, especially since (as far as I am aware), it isn't something Mojang made on the PC version. Not to mention without the ability to share worlds, it can't really be implemented as well as it is on the PC.
I don't understand why everybody feels the need to knock something, just because it's a new concept. I've seen great ideas discouraged just because people don't have a clue what they're talking about... but anyway.

I said "the World Edit mod"... Do you think Mojang makes mods for their own game? Because they don't. 4J has been talking about taking inspiration from popular mods to create their own DLC. I'm pretty sure World Edit is one of the most popular mods in existence. I just don't think it's a big enough add-on to be it's own DLC. Although, if it was, I would gladly pay for it.
And what does world sharing have to do with copying and pasting something in your own world? Besides, I'm almost positive 4J will add world sharing at some point. Although that still has nothing to do with a World Edit style feature.

I don't understand why people whine just because not everyone agrees with them. Isn't one of the main uses of things like Mc Edit or World Edit to make adventure maps?

That was my point. I don't expect them to add it to the Xbox 360 version if it isn't part of the PC version. If anything, it will be DLC.

I'm "whining" because there is a large group of people on the 360 forum that disagree for the sake of it. They seem to think they can read 4J's collective minds. And that is one of the more popular uses, I would say it benefits advanced redstone engineers the most. It is annoying to build the same thing over and over again. For a computer, I built the same adder 8 times, then a slightly modified version to subtract another 8 times. I built the same D flip flop 32 times for RAM, then 16 more times for input registers. Four 2-bit decoders, and a 4-bit decoder, all the same, and don't even get me started on serial busing.
A World Edit feature could have turned this month long project into a week long project.

I believe they have stated they will be adding Xbox-exclusive content to the game itself, or at least hinted at it. I just don't think it would be a large enough addition to be it's own DLC. Even if it was, it would probably only be 160 - 240 points, which I would have no problem with. Hell, I would pay 400, maybe even more.

its like the same squad goes to everyones ideas and knocks it everytime lol
I would like world edit. and it wouldnt hurt if combined with creative, it would save me time for sure, and if you dont like it
dont use it
inb4 the xbox beater squad quotes my post aswell
This guy is so so right
I'm not saying they shouldn't add it, I am just saying if they do, it will probably be DLC. I don't see them adding it to creative mode. I also think if they are going to implement something like that, they should wait until they allow you to use it to its fullest potential, like I said before with being able to share the worlds you make. I don't think they should release a crippled version that is missing one of the big features people use it for(map creation and sharing).
When map sharing comes around, I am sure you would be able to share old maps. And people will still be building, even if it's not possible to share worlds, so no matter what this would be useful. Think about how many times you have built something and realized you didn't give yourself enough room and had to rebuild the whole thing. This could have saved you from so much raging.
I'd love to see something like WorldEdit and SPC available for the 360, but I can also see that it would be a real headache to integrate it into a changing codebase.
That's why I'm saying this is an idea for the future. When we're all caught up with PC (sorta) they could add this as a bonus, or maybe DLC.
I don't necessarily want or need any kind of World Edit aspect of Minecraft: Xbox 360 Edition. However, I do agree with having a Creative mode, and it's probably being made as we speak. They're working on 1.8, and that's when Creative mode came out. Honestly, that's probably what's taking them so long.

We already know creative mode will be in the next update.
FINALLY somebody said it! I've been thinking about making this topic for weeks! Yes, this would be a huge help, and I would welcome it above all other features ever added in the future.
I don't understand why it can't be added just because it's a mod. Slap a new name on it, convert it to xbox controls, change the interface slightly, and it's legally golden.

Indeed!
My head is always full of ideas of things to build, and by the time I build one thing, I think of something else. If I had something like this, I might be able to actually complete all these projects in my head.
