4j tweeted this week that they are removing old easter eggs and put new one in the 1.8 update. so they gonna
remove the secret chest with all the full set of diamond armor, 2 pick axe, axe, hoe, shovel. ( <--- that's my favorite easter egg)

Of 10 things he doesn't want you to do. And if you do ANY of these ten things he has a special place, full of fire, and smoke, and burning, and torture, and will send you there to suffer and choke and scream for all of eternity... But he still loves you.
It would make sense to add more instead of remove..... Just like before. Adding more info to the tutorial as needed..... Brand new doesn't mean the old wont still be there......... Or improved. Maybe enchanted NOBODY had a problem with the last TUT World update...... I see no reason why it wont be decent again.... You can always use the old seed (maybe)
These easter eggs in the turtorial world are already pointless.
I wouldn't say pointless, since we don't have creative yet I tend to use the tutorial world as a redstone testing world since it already has 18 sticky pistons and redstone/ repeaters easily accessible, however if I need more redstone (which I usually end up needing) I can just grab the diamond pick and go digging for more without having to find iron, make a few picks, then go digging.

Why not dupe..? I only dupe when I do stuff like that, but still. Seems worthless to have a testing world and go looking for redstone when you can just dupe.

Not really, but these aren't really easter eggs imo. Easter eggs are supposed to be pointless, and funny, or just plain weird. Like the "food nipple" grunt from the original Halo. That was the greatest easter egg ever!
When these hidden things have a point to them, they become a part of the game, not just an entertaining bonus. That's why I personally wouldn't consider a chest full of free stuff to be an easter egg.

^^^^ YES!!! I always found it pointless to have full diamond at the start of a new world......It never helps anyone
I agree, the chest of diamond armor/tools is a secret, not an easter egg.
Starting out with full diamond equipment does ruin the game. There is no sense of accomplishment.

Most likely because the whole tutorial world will be different. Terrain generation changes in 1.8.2, might as well update the tutorial world to show off all those new changes.

but that is understandable. When creative mode
comes, then it will be pointless.
