haha, I remember playing with Lava when I first started to play. I was told not to play with lava anywhere near my house. Well.... I didn't listen. xD and so everything I mined was burned, at least Auto save wasn't on or even included yet, so I exited without saving. Learned my lesson. Now I either don't play with lava or am really careful where I place it.
I don't make wood houses anymore, due to friends griefing when we are all playing on Hard and building our own houses.

More recently I was working on my main world and building a cobblestone generator. I built this, rather large, building that looks a little like the turn of the century ore mills to house it. To keep it from just being this huge empty shell I started at the top and ran the lava and water all the way through and down it just for looks. The building is made of wood, save for the floors. I really did think that I had thought the lava all the way through and had it far enough away from the walls to be a non issue. <--I was wrong.
I was trying to wire the generator and needed to pick something up. I thought things didn't look quite right as I was climbing the stairs, it wasn't. Half the side of the building was gone, lost to fire I assume. I hadn't saved in a long enough time period to make reverting worth it so just repaired the side with stone and left it at that.

lol, that story is the greatest thing ive ever heard, but also sorry to hear.... this actually reminds me of the time me and a friend of mine were experimenting with tree growth when he said "wonder how a tree would grow near lava" well, it grew pretty well lots of light ya know... yea.... then there was some more light, and then there was fire... and then w ran around screaming.... good time good times... then later we had a massive tree we had to get rid of so i said "well lava worked pretty good last time" yea. so words of wisdom. dont try to get rid of a tree with lava.....

lol Once me and my neph were playing.So this was my first time minecraft play through.So being minecraft I thought the first thing to do was kill my neph...... Didn't go over so well with the rest of are famly when they were seperating me and my neph.
