Haha that's funny, I had a issue before using lava in a wood building got on the walls and I started to panic so I threw water on the walls only to have it pour down and mess of a big circle rail that I layed. So I also lost half of a building and the rails, and the building was about 45x60x25. Well now I learned not to put lava one block from the walls LOL

Add me if you like I play mostly COD, but I do play alot of Minecraft also.
Thats when it pays to have the 2 hour save option on , that way you can always exit with out saving and you won't lose valuable work that is already done , learned my lesson with nether rock and annoying people that just jump in worlds to drop obsidian everywhere , will gladly kick and Unfriend those punks !!! lol
putting lava anywhere
mining near lava
lighting netherrack
doing anything with a complex redstone contraption, even turning it on
doing anything with water buckets
allowing others into your world
I recommend turning off autosave in any case, but it's particularly important if you're doing things that might mess up your world, like some of the list above.
Don't feel too bad. It can happen to anyone.
The closest I came to accidently burning down one of my projects was when I was placing Netherrack in my basement to make a incinerator. The floor above the basement is made of wood slabs, and I thought using sandstone was safe enough to make the top of my incinerator with. Apparently Netherrack flame goes right through sandstone and my 1st story floor of my house went a blaze. I snuffed it all out before it burnt the entire house down thank goodness.
Jesus is a carpenter... Not an alchemist. You can rebuild bigger and better, Or more humble. That does suck though. You are forgiven!!!!! Live and learn I guess
it happened to me before, i got my first lava bucket and i put it in my wooden house. (not knowing that my house was wooden) i use it for a lava trashcan and my house was on FIRE (sorry i don't know where is the fire so i put lava) but the good thing is when i got to my house auto save started so i quit without save. (oh yeah i forgot pretend taht lava is fire)
For a disposal, make a deep chute and put the lava at the bottom. 7 blocks below your wooden floor ought to be more than enough. Have something block you from walking into the hole, like a glass block at face height if the hole is at floor level.
the only reason i saved the bulk of my house wass my water tower was ment to fight a fire so pressed a button and water comeplety
flooded my yard it saved most of my house thou.

I make it a practice to save before I place lava anywhere. Half the time it glitches and doesn't place the lava but empties the bucket.
I've noticed this glitch, but only in one of my worlds. Every single time I tried to place water/lava, it would flash and disappear. And I don't mean half the time, I mean every time. Since I've started a new world, I have never seen that glitch again, not even once.

Lol, just manually save often. That's your best choice as I promise an autosave will catch you in an act you don't wanna save in or after an incident you don't want to be permanent.
