I really hope this isn't obvious or something that everyone knew about because I just accidentally found this out today.
If you have shears and destroy leaves, you will get the block of leaves. This may seem rather useless, but I suppose leaves could make decent looking hedges or bushes around a house and they can even be used to make tree houses a little easier.
I apologize if this is widely known. The last thing I want to do is waste someone's time or make a pointless topic.
When you place them, they have to be on or touching wood or they just disappear.
I didn't know that, but I guess that only makes sense haha. That's a little bit disappointing because I was planning on making those epic shrub art things in the courtyard of my castle. Oh well. I can just put a bit of wood in them.
I am going to swap my Sugar cane "shrubs" for leave block shrubs. I'm planning on putting the wood block in the ground and the shrubs on top. That's no harder than making a water trench to have my sugar cane.
Made a tree shape/house to the design I liked and finished the tops with leave blocks. Maybe once 1.8 comes we will have the chance to use some vines and others I am forgetting about...
I think in a later update they won't have to be near wood
in order for them to remain still.
And a lot of people know this, but this is still helpful for newer peeps.
I'm actually really glad you weren't obnoxious when you posted this.
You know, like freaking out and going caps lock all over the place.

And he used punctuation.
Thanks for the links to the Wiki, as well as the other info. Will be helpful when I redesign my hedges tonight.
No need to apologize, just a little help to help yourself: Have a look into the Wiki, if it is there it is unlikely to be unknown, as this http://www.minecraft...net/wiki/Leaves
Thanks! I'll check here whenever I make a "new discovery" before I post anything from now on.

I just try to be a good member of the Minecraft community. I want to be helpful and not in the way. I know what it's like with those topics in which users post in all caps and bad spelling and grammar, and it's usually about the next update. I've actually seen a few of those today.

Glad you have common sense! lol. Yeah, that's the way to go. People will get angry
if the spelling isn't right or if there is bad punctuation.
