Hello everyone I am new to the forums here at minecraftforum.net.
So..
Has anyone created a full proof PvP arena yet? I've been considering my options and think this would be a fun way to have a game, within a game. My friend and I are currently working on the map Fotus and have created a bridge system stemming to multiple large platforms of towns. We've covered a good bit of ground, but the only thing missing is something to enjoy other than the scenery.
Ive constructed 5 arenas so far, each an improvement on the last. I have a 4 person FFA on a large square floating platform and all participants fight over a flint and steel and iron sword in the middle. The second one is 6 player FFA and every person has their own protected spawn. The arena is 3 floors with weapons and armor skewed all around. The map is also interactive. You can open and close bridges, fire a wall of arrow dispensers, drop pillars of lava and open up access to a sniper perch. My most recent arena is a 4v4 class based CTF game where teams try to capture the other teams wool. This is my favorite and most successful arena yet because it allows you to choose whatever class you want before spawning and it delivers your gear from tube of dispensers. Classes are Soldier, Archer, Scout, Pyro, Medic and Engineer. All very fun and balanced. Ive started working on latest and greatest map yet. I dont plan on finishing it until the 1.8 update though because there are some new classes that require items from the new update.
Me and my friend created a multi environment arena with 4 different classes which I'm positive is one of the better arenas out there that is actually FUN when playing. There is an entrance which takes you under the arena which is split up into four different rooms with four different chests in it and a way to go into the arena itself. But I won't show that. Here is a few pics
