I've got to believe it put's everyone in creative. otherwise, why would they have chosen to program it to be chosen on load?
That's what I think it will be like, but wouldn't it be nice if, along with this method, the host can choose to enter creative without letting others do so?

This would be a great feature for the host to have a choice. I also would like to see a additional choice of adventure(no block breaking). Which all is assignable by host on the fly. Probably wont happen but we can wish, I'm hoping if they do actual create larger rent-able servers this would be ideal..
Did the designers or did they not put the option in to the PC, the answer by the way of course being yes, therefore it is a valid option given by said designers.
TN55 - you keep bringing up the fact that in the PC, under SSP mode, ability to switch on the fly between survival and creative is enabled with cheats. So what? So are all the other server side commands (as I understand it) A: MCXBLA has no SSP mode, only SMP mode which has always had switch-on-the-fly for server OP's. B: MCXBLA is not getting switch-on-the-fly anyway, we are getting switch-on-load. Ergo, your comparison is invalid.
How exactly does MCX360 not have SSP? Playing Survival Offline is SSP. Switching to creative from a survival map immediately and having to reload makes no difference, it's the same thing, one's just slightly more time consuming. It's cheating, and you guys come up with ridiculous arguments trying to prove it's not cheating when it is acknowledged by the game's original developers as cheating, otherwise, it wouldn't be labeled what it is. Take Paspinall, for example, his argument doesn't even make sense. Like no **** it's a valid option in the game, put there by the designers. That doesn't change the fact that even they know it's cheating.
I just don't see why people would be so bothered if someone else "abused" it? It would not effect your playing experience one bit so why does it matter. I am not one to tell somebody how they have to play their game that they spent their money on to get it.

Every world on the Xbox 360 version is a multiplayer server, even if you are playing offline. Hence the reason you can do splitscreen. You don't need cheats enabled to enter creative mode on an SMP server on the PC version.
I rather like this idea, however its mainly all about how you use it. Personally i see it as a way for.. Lets say since i dont want to restart my world to get mineshafts for the melon seeds, simply go into creative, give myself one, and switch back. Though of course it will be abused by some, though the same can be said for alot of things. Though there are also those blocks that can only be found in creative like the circle stone. And if they add mob eggs at one point, then there is your way to get villager's. Only thing i have agaisnt this is that they should add some notification if that world has been switched to creative or has it remained strictly survival.
EVERYBODY JUST STOP TALKING ABOUT CREATIVE/SURVIVAL SWITCHING! Not once have I seen someone's opinion magically change after reading another person's words! I know how entertaining it is to debate these matters, yet it is not worth the time!
You don't think any players are negatively affected? Fine! Keep it to yourself!
You don't agree with the ability to change between Survival Mode and Creative Mode? Too bad! We will have to cut our losses!

As we have said a million times but you seem to not understand - it is not "labeled" as cheating in SMP which is what the xBox version is. Plus, I double dog dare you to show me one single stitch of a "rulebook" for this game. "Cheating" cheating at what? Cheating how? I think you're placing way too much weight to the fact that the SSP functionality was labeled "cheats." So freaking what? Mojang could've labeled it "rumplestilskin" and it wouldn't have changed anything about the functionality of the game or the end result. By your argument, building adventure worlds is cheating, building hunger game worlds is cheating. Hell, building yourself a nice world to just wander around in is cheating?
I mean honestly, what are you so worried about? Why do you even give a rip? Are you so distressed because you're afraid creative mode is going to mess up you're cherished position on the leaderboards? Do you feel creative mode builds somehow diminsh your own survival-mode creations? What? Are you worried, like Geneo below, that hosts will abuse other people in their worlds with it?
A: if a host abuses you with creative powers, don't play with them anymore.
B: a host can already abuse "creative-mode-esque" powers on you already - all they have to do is load up the world in offline-peaceful mode and stash a bunch of stuff in secret locations.
That sounds fair. Give that host special privileges over the other players.
Yea, right.
Damn I'm glad I don't play with some of you guys.
Why do you even go online if you're worried about "special priviledges" for the host of the game (which, by the way, is pretty much the normal for every other player-hosted game out there)?

Anyone have a link to this official info? Was it tweeted? Anyway, the idea of being able to switch between Creative and Survival is awesome. It adds more versatility to the game. You don't have to use it if you don't want to.

I believe this to be the way they will do it, stated by 4Js anouncement.

It's actually quite simple. MineCraft Nazis have one mentality: either play it MY way or shove off.
