I honestly think it's a great idea. This helps so that you do not have to make a new map every time a new update comes out. You can just get the new items from the new updates at a later date. ( like the end portal), or you can get blaze rods for potion stands.
I just kinda think it defeats e purpose of exploring and MINING AND CRAFTING
Limited space map caused me to have a map *before the 1.7.3 update* to not have a cactus on the map. I spent a week looking over every possible spot for it.
In the end i deleted the map before the update that let people know what the seed was.
NO cactus on the map. I could have used creative mode to spawn just one so i could get it.
I am fine with it as long as people don't abuse it. For example, I know I'm going to want melons in my old world but because I won't have access to any mineshafts, I don't think it's wrong to give myself one seed.
It's not like I plan to spawn a stack of diamond blocks or anything I'll still go mining and craft my items. I only plan to switch to creative to utilize features that are not in my map.
I just kinda think it defeats e purpose of exploring and MINING AND CRAFTING
I dunno...unless someone is threatening you physical harm...I don't see how switching to creative will matter much to you if you yourself is not doing it.
I'd like to point out...ADVENTURE MAPS! This I am excited for and I honestly can not wait to make one.
You can do it in the PC version(it is actually easier to switch between the two in that version). If you are going to complain about us getting the option to switch between the two also, then you might as well go complain to Mojang and get them to change the PC version also.
I totally agree, and stated my opinion of it in the other thread about this.
Not only would it cheapen Survival, it would be abused. For instance, it would make all these Adventure or PVP maps everyone is making virtually pointless. People would join the world, get chests full of diamond armor, weapons, food, etc. Basically they'd become almost immortal and invincible (and don't tell me they wouldn't).
Also the whole point of the (survival) game- the challenge of starting in a new world with nothing and prospering from your own hard work- would be gone.
But some people say that "We should be able to play the game however we want and do whatever we to!"
Not quite.
You can play the game however you want to- within the rules and confines of the game.
Why people look at Minecraft different than all the other games out there is beyond me.
I also don't buy the "I got no melons, so I'll just add some" excuse. That's part of the challenge of that world. Handle it.
I think that it is helpful with map making and mod testing. And one thing you didn't think of. IF YOU DON'T LIKE THAT FEATURE DON'T USE THAT FEATURE! (I play on the PC)
I do think it defeats the purpose as well. The whole point of Survival is to Survive. Why even bother playing a survival map if your just going to spawn in ores/weapons/tools? But people are going to play how they want and this option is happening no matter if you're for it or against it and as long as it doesn't affect me or my play style then I'm fine w/it
Its like a whole different game actually, you say the point of survival is surviving, well the point of creative is creating.
And it doesn't even affect us, i dont think ill be using it that much except for adding things .i dont have, like melon seeds
Isn't there some mod that literally every single MCPE user has that allows you to switch between the two? Yeah, there is.
If anybody thinks it cheap, then I don't understand what the hell is wrong with you. If you don't want to switch between the two, then don't. If you really fear other people using it to get ahead in their own levels, without affecting you at all, then get over it.
The reason I want it is so that I can create something really nice, and then be able to actually play in it. Is that so wrong?
Nope.
The question is how you get something "really nice".
There's a huge difference in the appreciation and sense of accomplishment between someone giving you a million compared to someone earning a million.
No, what you do doesn't effect me- but I think it's wrong anyway.
Um, I'd pretty happy if you give me that million now, thank you. Would I rather win the lottery, or work for forty years? Hm...
I don't see how free items makes you lose a sense of accomplishment. You got the items for free, sure, and that makes rare blocks cheap, sure, but you still built that whole thing yourself. If you're content with your mud hut, then so be it, but don't expect me to not make a mansion. Frankly, I don't care if you think I'm wrong, but if you try changing my view then Hulk get angry.
I just wish I could figure out the dupe glitch. :/
One one hand, I don't dupe, I don't glitch, I don't ever play on peaceful. I like the challenge of building inside the confines of the game.
BUT
I also have a world where I've been building giant animal statues, mostly with colored wool. After starting on my turtle, I found I don't have any cactus on this map. 3 people have searched the whole world to help, and nothing. If I could use creative mode to drop in a cactus (and maybe a jungle tree or melon seed) I would do it, while still considering my world "legit".
In the end, I think everyone will learn to adapt to and maybe even enjoy whatever changes we get.

Forum AdminStart a new map ...
have no *insert rare item* on map? ...
Set creative mode to drop one of said item ..
set back to survival and play.
In the end i deleted the map before the update that let people know what the seed was.

I have to disagree let him do what he chooses me and the rest of Saint city will only do it as said before,to get items not normally possible.

Herobrine exists because we let him exist.
