I messed around with various arrangements and types of blocks and this is what I ended up settling for.
I tried adding glass and it just made it look too chunky. I didn't particularly plan for street lights when I built the homes and wanted to put them in as an after thought so it's a bit crowded.

Full slab blocks burn as of like 1.2 I think. The half slabs like that don't though.(But who builds a house out of half slabs anyway? Btw, I like the way that looks. good lighting for non-OCD people.)
I will repeat, using slabs and stacking them do not burn. If you disagree then try it out and you will see that it does in fact work. And the picture was just for this topic nothing else, I do not use it for a light source.
