I love this poll option "No I can't wait longer and would rather have a half broken world". Doesn't exactly want to make you choose that one, does it? Biased much?
OP is there any particularly good reason why you chose to use several different font colors? Because it persuaded me not to bother reading any of what you said.

"Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things that you didn't do than by the ones you did do. So throw off the bowlines. Sail away from the safe harbor. Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover." ยง7- Mark Twain
since this topic has gone completely off the rails, can I just say, McGizmo, please FOR THE LOVE OF GOD!, change your avatar" Every time you post, I feel the need to try and swat my computer screen.
On topic - I would rather have a broken, half-assed world where I can actually create cool things and play, then wait around listening to a bunch of demanding sots whine about how easy it must be to get updates out and "why aren't they happening faster?"
The only gamebreaking thing would be End portals. The other stuff (nether wart, villagers), like I said above, can be added with creative mode. You can even add the End portal blocks in a later update(though I don't know if they can be used to activate an End portal). There is no way to obtain emerald ORE without it generating in the terrain. You might not think it is a big deal, but I think it is a cool block. As for jungle temples, that is the only way to obtain chiseled bricks.
One problem: You won't be able to switch your world to creative mode, unless 4J allows you to, which there is no confirmation of yet.
There are a few tweets on it, haven't been paying attention to their twitter, thank you Mustache_Guy.
Honestly? Look, 4J is going to expand the world, not for 1.8, but at some point (in all honesty it would make sense to add it when they increase the height limit). When they do expand the world they will try to make sure it would have all the features to make the game playable. Oh, and also, your poll is biased.

Examiner.com reported on August 16th: "As for how the new Creative Mode works with the existing Survival mode, Ross says they will be two separate options on the main Xbox 360 menu. Players won't be able to switch between Creative and Survival modes while you're playing though. Instead, you'll have to exit back out to the main menu and load the world up in whichever mode you prefer." Well that's new. No idea how they are going to balance it, since game balance becomes a bigger priority in the later updates.
There no need to balance it. It is like on the PC version. In fact it is easier on the PC version because you can switch between the two while in the game.

On the PC version, you need to enable cheats to switch game modes in your world. You're only able to turn on cheats upon world creation.
From what I've read, on the xbox version all you need to do is be on the world loading menu to change gamemode.
It's not like the PC version. PC has a more balanced system of dealing with it.
I would like to see 4J handle this differently than Mojang, since we don't have endless maps and can't just go further to get new terrain.
I think they should have a way where you can select a portion of your map and "reset it".
Make it 1/4, or 1/8th of the map at a time, and have it clear out as if you'd never "activated" it.
When you return to that area, it should regenerate with whatever updated terrain/features are available.
But that will still cause huge variance, because it would do it by chunk if it did that, andd your going to get those lovely square blocks of change and stuff.

That is if you are playing single player, and was only just recently implemented. You can use SMP server commands to switch gamemodes, and you have been able to do that for who knows how long, doesn't require cheats enabled.

I was talking about single player to begin with. The /gamemode command is considered a cheat in SP, and only works if cheats are enabled on the world. Only server OPs have access to /gamemode in SMP servers.

Yes, but I wasn't. Keep in mind we are always playing a "multiplayer" server on the Xbox 360, whether you are online or not. And this doesn't change the fact that it can be done in the PC version. And it will work just the same as it will for us. You can give yourself unlimited items if you want. If you want to talk about balancing it, you should talk about the PC version also, it is no different (besides the fact it is easier to do on the PC version).

The problem with this is, your map isnt just your map. The seed number dictates what the map looks like. Everyone who uses that seed number has the same map. You can build on it differently but the terrain is what the seed started as as far as Im aware this would be a big change to make the seeds generate differences per user.

If there were a way to reset parts of your map, it would work like the person wanted to. Like when 1.8.2 comes out, there would be a chance of a ravine or village showing up in an area it wasn't before. Yes, seeds determine how terrain generates, but keep in mind the algorithm for generating terrain changes with each update. So the same seed produces different worlds in different versions.
The only problem with what the person suggested is that terrain generation completely changes from pre-1.8 to 1.8 and beyond. This causes a very noticeable boundary between the old generation and new generation.
before this happens Ill just take TNT and blow up my world so that I! MYSELF! destroyed my world. Honestly who cares after I get tons of stuff built I get bored with that server after a while anyway. complain complain, blah blah blah, shears shears shears, pikachu, donkey kong, waffles, and toast. skeeter deets and banjo kazooeys. I rest my case your honor
Lol i love how biased this poll is, two options are different ways of saying the same thing, and the "no" option is also stated in a way that supports the OP's opinions. Lol u suck.\
Anyways, I voted that I wanted my world "half-broken" I understand that people put hard work into their worlds, but frankly, they can bite the big one. I want to be able to check out the new features sooner then later, so there.

Without the skin... Beneath the storm... Under these tears...The walls came down
I am waiting to the 1.8 update to make a new map, I will no access the nether at this point either so my nether will change later. The end I'm not worried about though. If i really want to go to the end later, then I will switch to creative mode and make a portal room in a strong hold. The same goes for later if I want jungle trees, I will just get a few jungle saplings and I'm set.
