Not a stupid question, and to do it you must dig out a pretty big area, light up the area well, and plant.

Not too hard.

I dont have the dimentions for the room, but it will have to be a little larger than a tree

Depends on the type of tree you want to plant to how tall the room would need to be but yes you can do so happily.
