I know Skin Pack 2 just came out and i'm not sure if any of the skins have capes but I don't think so.
Recently I have encountered a glitch that can be found here. The glitch messed up lots of stuff such as animals textures. I recently looked at my person in 3rd person and there is a cape on him with the same texture as my messed up animals. It is like a chain/white texture. So, does this mean that some skins may have capes? I think so.

Can they? Yes. Will they? I doubt it. Keep in mind they pretty much just copied the code from the PC version. They may have just kept the cape code just in case. Like if they gave away codes for them at Minecon, like they did for the PC version last year(I believe that is what happened).
Capes are sooo last year...... I would rather see what goodies are in this years Minecon. Honestly a cape is old news... (I went to Minecon and all I got was this stupid Cape) If you did not go you shouldn't get/ have one....... JMHO. The most important thing is that the save file is corrupted... Maybe a loss of all work to prove capes exist.... Not worth it IMO
WHY??? Capes where issued to the select few that went to Minecon 2011. If you didn't go why should you have one???? You fail Bro. The point was that we should look forward to see what's next. Not harp about glitched capes in a corrupted save file..... In a few months NOBODY will want capes from last year my friend. Minecon 2012 will have the new goodie everyone is after. And YES if you don't go you should not have whatever it is..... (That's kinda the point)
That is what i'm saying. They are most likely going to be in a skin pack. Like superman for example.
And it's not corrupted. It's an issue with a update that I will fix soon.
