If you have a buddy over you can play split screen, chill back smoke a jay or somethin and build some crazy shizz. I cant run minecraft on my laptop, but even if I could id prefer the xbox anyday. So what if there are some things missing? I'm still building some sweet stuff, and eventually there wont be much difference at all between the two. Patience is key my fellow miners... you arent gonna find those diamonds mining for 10 mins.
Not updated as often, have to pay for skin packs, can't make own skin, limited worlds, slow slow updates, all for the same price as the computer.
It makes me mad becuase there was no mention of this before buying the game that states
"Minecraft 360 is currently in beta 1.6 and will take a year to possibly catch up to PC and completely lacks things such as creative, mods, skin editors, etc. So before you buy this game for 20 dollars just realize it costs the same for PC but this game for Xbox will lack and it also has a limited world."
If it said something like that then I wouldn't have wasted 20 bucks on this game becuase all I do now is load it up and say, "wow same old boring not updated Minecraft ... Oh look a skin pack that costs 2 dollars ... no thanks I'd rather buy Castle Ripoff Z for a dollar". It's more sad becuase my friend on PC tells me that Notch made 1.8 beta by himself and it came out quicker on PC while he worked on it himself and an entire studio at 4J struggles to do something that's already happened. Not like they have to sit there for a few days like Notch did and think of things to add in or remove ...
Everyone is forgetting that at one point people were spending $20 on PC for the same version Xbox runs
Did it cost $20 for the very Beta release? I thought I got it for like $9 or something, but that was like 2 years ago. Anyways I have played on multiple PC servers and have used mods, texture packs, skins , etc. and although it is fun I honestly enjoy the Xbox version better and play it almost exclusively. It's just easier to sit in my chair turn my TV on and play with my friends or alone. On PC multiplayer I always ran into hackers, griefers and power hungry OP's. On Xbox I control who I play with. Different strokes for different folks.
I see it this way if you already like PC gaming go with that version it would be the better value. If your an avid console gamer or don't have a decent PC than the Xbox version is the better value.
Never played minecraft until it came out for the xbox so yes its worth it. I've enjoyed it a lot no plans to get it for the PC but i find there is no need to at least for me (not into mods, don't mind buying skins, and love the controller).

Once the adventure update hits I think people will want it even more
Must be the only good servers I play on are hunger games servers but you can't get screwed over unless you just don't have food or gear
While that is a pain sometimes it definitely doesn't ruin the game.. And they're debating wether to add infinite land generation or not.
