Alright so i made a really nice looking city. I'd like to make a cool spawn location upon entering my world but im having trouble figuring it out. Ideally, I'd like players to spawn inside a roofed airplane way up in the sky. I have the player spawn area marked out but im afraid to keep building out of fear they'd spawn on the planes roof and not inside. can anyone share some knowledge?
It would be cool if we could change that, though. I'm making a Zombie survival city, and I'd rather have players spawn in one of the buildings rather than off in the hills i decided not to build on. Is this something we can do with the upcoming creative mode?
Appreciate the attempted help but there is clearly a way to find the spawn zone... I have it marked off already, and that wasn't even my question. Anyone else please?! I just want them to spawn INSIDE the plane not on the roof
I don't think there is anyway to determine where players will spawn. Sorry.
Oh but there is, already did that part, the world creates a random 21x21 center for spawning and a 33x33 for multiplayer i believe. If you've noticed when you see people enter your World, there always in the same vicinity
They will spawn right on the ground not in inside the plane nor above it, to make it look like a plane up in the air you would have to make the inside of the plane where your spawn zone is, and then remove all the blocks below it within a 25 block radius. So it looks like its up in the air.
Too much work for just a spawn point if you ask me.
A 20x20 area (more or less) is chosen to be the permanent spawning location from when the world is first loaded. It can be either in the very center or around 50 meters diagonal of the center. If you want all players to spawn on a plane, then you are in luck. The game automatically forgets spawning for all blocks lower than the highest. This is to stop players from starting off below the surface.

Atleast you know what im talking about thanks man lol. the only problem is the tail wing of the plane is higher up than the actual plane, so once i roof up the cabin and stuff, the 'highest' block becomes the roof of the plane, i cant seem to figure out another way besides filling the above blocks all up
I'm pretty sure they would only spawn on the roof. My friend made an obsidian room for players to spawn in, and nobody ever spawned inside of it. Always on top of the thing.
Players drop from the ceiling onto their spawn point, so if they land on the highest block in the air. So they cant spawn below any blocks, at least not yet. They change it later but i'm not sure when

If that is the problem, try making the roof out of Slabs. Attempt to place them in all possible locations (on top of block, side of block, etc.)
What if... you completely filled the spawning area with blocks? Would they spawn above the world? Or would it force them to spawn in a cave below? What if you filled up those caves within the spawning zone?

Either suffocation or spawning above the height limit. Any other kind of a fail-safe, such as below the blocks, seems unlikely.
That might work, I've heard of people saving on slabs, then when they load the game, they just fall through them.
It probably works, yet nobody has ever tested the spawns of Minecraft: Xbox 360 Edition to large extents. Now we are treating the Op like our test rat.
Yes, but I mean where each person will spawn in that is random.
Specific spawn block random yes, but I can make the plane big enough to cover the whole spawn area..
Slabs huh? So you think if i covered the plane's cabin with slabs that when players spawn on it, they'd fall through right into the plane?
Flling up all the blocks below the plane is unneccessary, as the plane is higher. Im going to go try covering the entire lay out with slabs and see if they fall thru
Question did you mean half slab or full slabs? and did you mean place them at the very top of ceiling on map? I tried puting all slabs over the spawn area but i didnt put them at the very top of map

He means as the roof of your plane. And use half slabs, when you put two slabs together it becomes an opaque block. A half slab is transparent.
The only ideas I have involve the players to start off on the ground, and then go up to the aircraft and sleep in a bed. This changes their spawn point so all u have to do is cause their death and tada! Spawn inside plane accomplished. Alternatively, just make a room with a ladder going up and they have no choice but to go up inside the plane to start, effectively avoiding the lack of user selected spawn in points. (until they add that in with a future update hopefully. )
Some people I met in-game have that spawner.. far from an airplane, i think i know what to do ill snap a pic after its complete...
One last /bump for a desperate architect before construction!
