I have been on here and know that the new update is coming soon. I also know that villages should be in the update, but what about the villagers? It feels kind of weird to build a bunch of houses or towns with no one to occupy them.
I don't expect them to pull villagers early. It may be weird to have empty villages, but that is how it was on the PC version also. I think they have other things prioritized first to pull forward, such as breeding and/or enchanting.
Does anyone know if you have a village without villagers first, and then the patch comes out with villagers, will your village (without the villagers) have them? Or do you need yet another new world? Wow that was a lot of "village" in a sentence..

I don't think villagers will spawn in the village. You would need to find a new village to get villagers when they are added in an update. Of course, by that time I think we will have mob eggs available, so you should be able to add villagers with creative mode if you didn't want to start a new world.
Villages without villagers is pointless. Why even bother. 4j should use that time to focus on bringing forward enchanting or breeding if they're not going to combine villages and villagers. Don't be fooled, they do have the capability to bring forward any of these features, regardless of how it happened on pc.
