Face it... with the maturity level of a lot of the players, you'd have countless pre-teens running around with boobs hanging out, dicks on their foreheads, god knows what else...
This whole post is very much valid and true, but this line literally made me Laugh Out Loud!
i dont believe that for 1 minute !!
how about forza ? thats a 3, yet we have the ability to draw what the hell we like, they dont check all drawings, they wait for someone to complain about them, also i could build a giant penis in my world, nobody checks that either, so i dont think what you said is right....sorry
Just because you don't hear much fanfare concerning copyright infringmenet doesn't mean it doesn't happen. Also, Forza Motorport is backed by Microsoft Studios, a company that has the resources to acquire licenses to use copyrighted material in game.
As far as building obcene buildings, that's part of the unrated-by-ESRB online interactions, they can easily strip themselves of legal liability.
Business doesn't work that way, buddy. Companies are always out there, trying to extract every last £, $, or € out of every person that is willing to buy the game. It's disgusting, but it's never going to change, and a single comment isn't going to change that, not even 1,000,000 could. So sorry, but it seems the charges are here for good.
The charges aren't on us because of greed on anybody's part. This is business. This is the real world.

But considering the practically limitless possibilities of what you can create in Forza Motorsport, MS would have had to acquire licenses for virtually everything in existence.
"Microsoft Acquires License for World"
Now that's a headline I want to see.

Everybody should really just stop replying to threads like this. No matter how many times you explain it to these people, somebody else is going to start this exact same thread in a week at the most.
I bet if you searched the forum for free skins or free texture packs you would come up with at least 20 duplicate threads. But does anyone do that? Of course not, that's far too logical.
Let me try a different approach. The PC is an open platform (so far--beware of Windows 8). Consoles are closed platforms. You can do whatever you want with your PC, run whatever software you want. Consoles can only run approved software. The code is encrypted and tightly controlled. As a PC user, not only can you use software, you can also create it and distribute it without anyone's approval. That cannot be done on a console. You must persuade the lords and masters of the console world to allow your software and other creations on their systems, and that usually involves money, lots of it.
The two venues could hardly be any further apart. What you can expect from one seldom applies to the other. Free anything on a console is extremely rare, even when the same stuff is everywhere for free on the PC.
LOL @ copyright infringement... did you see the skin "Sailor" in the new pack? A sailor with big anchor tattoos on his forearms, no hair and a corn cob pipe in his mouth? My eyes popped when I saw that one! I guess he's in the public domain, or something?
I don't think people understand how poor notch actually is. Minecraft isn't some totally amazing, popular must buy, it's actually a very poorly put together game where enemies have literally 0 A.I. and gaming critics rate it 2/10. So it's not like he's trying to scam you. it's a reasonable price for some neat DLC and just a way to help support notch, and the minecraft community in general.

It looks similar to Popeye, but what do you expect? It is a sailor outfit. Popeye is a sailor. It is going to look similar. I don't see how that would be copyright infringement.

Huh, that's funny. Because GameSpot gave it a 7/10. And on Metacritic, the average out of reviews from 63 different sites/magazines is 82/100. And the majority of these reviews (including the GameSpot review) were on the Xbox version. If they were only PC version, the average would probably be 90.
Btw, Notch isn't the head honcho at Mojang anymore. He's still part of it, but mostly he's invested in his new space game shenanigans. 12Green47Q or whatever.
Alright, under normal circumstance I wouldn't reply to something like this but damn, are we that spoiled that because of the Internet we expect everything to be free? My question is, would you work for no pay? How come this basic concept is so hard to grasp? I can only think to myself that the Internet has turned us into babies. Anyway, I'm sorry to the minecrafters who understand what I'm saying, I just lost it for a moment.
Well, I definitely would accept pay for no work...
But you're right; people are so used to being able to download all sorts of stuff off the internet (I'm only considering legal stuff), that they expect that this should also be possible on the Xbox360. They are totally oblivious to the fact that Xbox Live is a closed system governed by Microsoft and not the open playground they're used to.

It would be copyright infringement if the Sailor said Popeye on it.
But since it doesn't Popeye, its not copyright infringement.
I think it's so damn hilarious that someone playing a $20 game on their $200 xbox with a $50/month internet connection is bitching about spending a measly $2 on a pack of 40 skins, because it is just so important to them how other people see their painted, blocky pixel-person.... as they sit in their underwear on the couch covered in candy bar wrappers.
No sympathy from me... I'm too busy laughing my ass off.
LISTEN 4J !!!!!! Make the skins free or give us a skin creator for like 1600 or something. You guys a ripping everyone off, by making us pay for skins that we could make for free. You guys sold over a million copies of MCXBOX360. I would pay for texture packs but skins c'mon they ARE FREE on PC and just let us make are own.
This is like saying Fords include a spare tire- Buick, Chevrolet, and Hyundai should too! But they don't, and they won't. The whining isn't going to change things.
Man, this whole "but it's free on the PC" argument is really getting old.

LOGIC FOR THE WIN.
