Okay, so i recently made a new world and i wanted to get a slime farm going. i had done it before in other worlds and it worked desently. I went on this website and enterd my x and z position and my seed and it told me all the chunks in that area that slime can spawn. so i dug out a 3 high 16 wide and 16 long area 5 levels above bedrock in that chunk, then i light it up from the ceiling using torches (i basicly dug out blocks in the ceiling and stuck torces in them). then i went back up to the surface and waited a while and no slimes had spawned. If your wondering, i am on easy difficulty. PLEASE TELL ME WHAT I AM DOING WRONG. Also, i have already lit up caves in the area and i dont have a regular mob spawner any where near so thats not the problem.
Try to make it as tall as you can aswell. Three blocks may not be tall enough
Hope this helped.
3 blocks is more than enough, big slimes are 2.4 blocks tall. Have you checked out my thread. I bet there are way more caves to light up, mobs spawn 128 radius from you. There could be a cave 80 blocks away from your waiting area in the other directrion of your slime farm
if you are in fact in a slime chunk below layer 16 then the only thing is other mobs are spawning. they have a very low spawn rate. so caves are your enemy plus you may be waiting to far away and they are despawning. 24-30 is optimal.

yea, right arfter posting this i foud a HUGE cave system, so that may be why. to give you an idea of how big it is, it has taken about 2 stacks of torces to light it up. Also, i'll try wating closer to the farm itself and hopefully i'll get some slimes now
