I give everyone a chance, but I find myself unfriending young 'uns more often then my older xbox friends. Younger kids are more likely to be annoying I guess.
Case in point, I had a kid add me off the forums, he came to my world to check it out while I was in the middle of a project (building a giant snowman for the curious.) I gave him the tour, let him pick out what tools/armor/blocks/misc he needed, then I turned him loose. He asked if I would go through my nether portal with him. I explained to him that I was in the middle of something and that I would rather not, but he was welcome to make the trip on his own.
Long story short, he ended up going into the portal himself, he begs me for five minutes to bring him some stuff he forgot to bring and to help him out, I bring the stuff and try to give it to him, it ends up in the lava, my portal is inactive and the only flint and steel I brought I was going to give to him, so it was in the lava. I was going to leave as soon as I gave him the stuff, and I didn't want to go in the first place, so suffice to say, I was a little annoyed.

I have no problem letting kids play on my map as long as they don't annoy me or destroy something I've built. They do have to gain my trust before I leave them alone by themselves to build things. I've had about 50 different people on my map and so far no one has trolled it.

I've had maybe 7 or 8 different friends on my map and they've never done anything. You must have some nice friends if you haven't had a single guy out of 50 do anything to your world.
i just dont like it when they have better builds than me or are better than me. either that or when they think they are all cool.
i het playing modern warfare with young kids becasu they always seem to kick ass and its annoying .lol

I think it's a maturity thing. For me, I don't mind playing with little kids or teenagers or adults. I don't like playing with immature players though. I know that there are some immature adults and teenagers, but little kids tend to be immature more often than teenagers or adults.
This says it all! i play with nothing but lil kids it seems, but if they get too whiny i just turn off my mic and mute em and continue on my build, they do enjoy my building skills though
Probably the loud and squeaky voices, small attention span, inability to obey commands, ignorance of everything in Minecraft, lying, overuse of the duplication glitch, griefing, love of glitches and bugs, and overall lack of maturity in the average young player.

I would say at least 30 of those people was only there to take a tour my map.

They, for the most part are just plain annoying. No recognition for rules at all. My friend let his friend in my world, he was a little loud but me.. Deciding to be nice, let him stay. He came into my house a would not leave and I asked him a few times to get out. He finally left, I go down into my mine to mine for a bit and he kept asking me for materials to make his house. I told him atleat 5 times by then that he needed to get it himself; and that if he needed tools he could ask Scott (my friend, he's trusted.) I get back up from mining and he is in my attic. I told him to get out and realized I was missing some flint and steel and a load of diamonds. I knew it was him, but I wanted to have a little fun with him first. So I asked him about it, he told me he didn't take anything. So I walked away for a bit, came back and one of my houses on fire. I act surprised and tried to put it out and he said it was probably lightning. (it thundered prior to this.) On my way back to my house i see that my house is on fire too. I get annoyed and I told him straight up this time "Why'd you set my house on fire" he then continued to lie while riding my minecart down. Needless to say when I got to the bottom of my mine I saw him throw the flint and steel into my lava pit. Right when I told him that he was busted he let out a loud (screechy) rage and left the game and the party. I then reloaded last save. That is one of the prime reasons I hate little kids in my game.
It's more of a stereotype. I love kids, especially kids who love to play games which I like! Yes, you'll find kids that are overly obnoxious, rude, immature but that's their nature. You don't expect to see a grown man crying if they can't get a certain toy or if their mom shuts off their xbox. As someone who's going to be married, I want to have a kid, boy or girl, just to see how I'd be as a father and my main priority is to start getting in the habit of dealing with it.
Getting more on topic here, Minecraft has the fan-base that baffles me to this day. Old, young, male, female, play this game a like but it ALWAYS will fall back to that one stereotype. "Kids are stupid and annoying". A majority of my subscribers are either teens or pre-teens (10-) and it's great because they all gather around to see my Minecraft videos. Point being, kids rules and kids kinda suck. Depends on how they were raised, how they act and why.
I myself being a "kid" (is 11 still a kid?) I understand the annoyance you older people have. A lot of my friends are like how you guys describe. Some of them are very helpful and self reliant and fairly mature (more mature than some older people i know). I guess what im trying to say is give everybody a chance, you don't really know how they are jugded on if their voices' "squeak".

my younger sister and most of her friends are plain annoying, loud, and dupers. If it was just that I wouldn't care but her friends will go and grief the stuff I make on servers and laugh, not to mention their is no punishment at all

The same reason I don't spend my free time IRL with kids. i don't want to spend my free time on Xbox playing with kids. Kids are the worst. There are rare exceptions but generally I just don't like kids.
Generally, I don't like children. Loud and needy more often than not. I haven't had bad experiences in minecraft, but I do "invite only" for a reason.
Funny story though, I saw a guy on my friends list started playing Minecraft. It was a "friend" I hadn't played with in ages and couldn't remember. So I jump into the game and party. Turns out it was this British kid I had played COD with. He got added because he was hilarious on the mic, and a decent player. Not so much in Minecraft though. I found their chatter to be entertaining at first, playing with the dogs and what not, but eventually it got old. They weren't doing much, so I ran off into the wilderness, built a cool looking tiny shack, stocked it with weapons, armor and food and then logged off. At the rate they were playing it will probably take them weeks to stumble upon on the surprise I left for them.
Just because some of us don't like kids doesn't mean we hate on them.

I agree. Good post. Oh and yes, 11 is still a kid... but also growing out of being a kid sooner than you think. Enjoy it!
I really enjoy playing Minecraft with my friend's kids and I think i do learn as much from them as I hope they are learning from me. They are teaching me things like the controls and the ins and outs of the game (things like putting wood under leaf hedges to keep them from despawning - I never would have thought of that on my own) Hopefully, I am teaching them how to be more respectful, mature players - the sort of players that other players will enjoy having participate in their worlds someday. For now, though, I realy encourage them to stick to servers where it is just people who know them personally. I acually think it's safer for them to stay offline for the most part. That's one reason why I really enjoy the 4-player splitscreen mode the XBox version offers.
