So for some reason, one of my chests is bugged. Everytime I try and open it, the xbox freezes. I've tried destorying it, and xbox freezes again...
I havent tried getting a creeper to blow it up yet, but im pretty sure it will freeze as well. None of the other chests have this problem, only that one.
The only weird thing i can think of that would be IN that chest is a cake o.o
Do you have glitchy stuff in that chest? Did you use some trick to get blocks not in this version of the game, or stacks larger than 64, etc? Just curious. I don't have a solid answer for you regardless. I've never heard of this happening before, which is why I'm curious.
Oh, but you said cake is as weird as it gets. Sorry. I have a cake now myself. Laughed at the unlocking achievement too.

It might be related to the "blocks reappearing after mined" bug on the Official Bugs list started by 4J (pinned on this forum). 4J Steve indicates that the issue might be lag related, but I've had blocks reappear repeatedly after mining them even when I haven't noticed any lag issues going on and I've never duped anything anywhere yet. I have noticed sometimes that after mining a block for several tries, if I just leave the area, the block just finally disappears. I have had once instance of it, however, where my character appeared to be completely stuck in a one-block space. On that occasion, I had no choice but to exit the game without saving since I couldn't even die to get out of the fix I was in.
When the blocks reappear, the event is sometimes reported as being accompanied by a lot of screen "judder" (or fluttering). Are you experiencing any of that when you start opening or mining the chest?
Have you tried burning the chest down? Unfortunately, you wont get your stuff back, but it will al least remove this glitch from further complications.
Of course, you can always stick a block of TNT below it....mwahahahaha
Wow, thats a major relief for myself. Ive always assumed the wood-related items burn...after seeing my crafting table go up in flames. I had to rearrange my entire house to make the burning netherrack look good with my chests, but keep a safe distance. Thanks for clearing this up, but im sorry for bringing little to this topic. :/

Crafting tables burn? I've had one beside a lava sea for many hours in the nether. The netherrack beside it even caught on fire, but the table remained.
Hi. Ive never modded or duped or anything. Ive never been to the nether on this game. Never done any chests. Just regular playing. I thought about placing TNT below it, but i believe my gunpowder is in the said chest
Its weird because This chest froze once before last month.. But i restarted the xbox, and the chest worked fine. BUt now it freezes no matter how often i restart
Ok. Well i started my xbox up today, and first thing I did was break the box.. and it worked this time.

Thanks to everyone for the replies
Hmm... I've stored all of those things in a chest at one point or another and have never had a problem. Except snowballs, who the hell stores snowballs? Compress that ish, son!
I think you just got struck by some undiscovered chest glitch, my friend.

I have for a little bit when I was just gathering up supplies to make my igloo. Then I converted them all to snowblocks in one session at the crafting table. I had no issues with storing them. I'm not sure where it was I read it, but I did read something today about a period of time on the PC where there were chests that would lock. It may have been a mention of a hoax or glitch on the PC. I'll have to go digging and see if I can't find the post or article again.
I have some snowballs stored in my tutorial world. No problems. All those items and amounts look fine to me. Don't know what to tell you, other than I'm glad you got past the problem.

Glad you finally got into it.
