If you are new to Xbox Minecraft, I might be able to help. Need help with a Slime farm? Need help making your first Redstone thingee? Post here and ask me. I myself am a 'Noob'. Sometimes when asking for help, people just give you that 'Geeze this guy is a Noob' attitude, but here you can feel safe. Post any and all Noobish questions and I'll try my best to Google and search these forums for answers.
I'll start off with the Slime Farm. There are many, many ways to Farm Slime, the following is what I do:
First, go to : http://mcslimes.appspot.com/index.jsp . Enter coordinates in the 'Central Point and Distance' blocks. If you want a full map, leave X and Z at 0 and put 432 for DISTANCE. The problem with that is you won't get exact coordinates, as the map is too big. What I did was built my house, then entered the coords for my house(anywhere around it), and set DISTANCE to 64-100. You will get a more accurate map this way, showing the CHUNKS that SLIME can spawn in. A CHUNK is 16x16 blocks. Once you know where the SLIME is, DIG down to LEVEL 8, which is Y:8. You can go a little higher or lower, but this is what I did. Once you are at the right level and CHUNK coordinate, make a 16x16 cave, three blocks high. If two CHUNKS that spawn SLIME are next to each other, like mine, make it 16x32 or 32x16, to cover both CHUNKS and so on for more CHUNKS. It can be more than 3 BLOCKS HIGH, but not less, as BIG SLIMES are 2.5 BLOCKS TALL. After all of that is done, put some TORCHES on the wall, and MINE HOLES in the CEILING and put TORCHES in the CEILING. Put enough TORCHES to STOP other ENEMY MOBS for SPAWNING. You don't need to go overkill with the TORCHES, as many people believe, just enough to LIGHT the CAVE UP. Once all of that is done, you are ready to FARM SLIME!!! Go anywhere between 26 and 140 BLOCKS AWAY from your SLIME FARM, wait about 5-10 MINUTES, and then go check up on your SLIME FARM. If all goes well, you'll have anywhere from 1-3 BIG SLIMES, as is the case for my SLIME FARM, which is 16x32 BLOCKS. If you have the farm close to your house, go do stuff around your house to pass the time, and go check the FARM at NIGHT when enemies come out.
Some Noobish questions/comments on SLIME:
Can SLIME spawn on PEACEFUL? Technically, no. It CAN happen, but is very rare. I've also had invisible SLIMES on PEACEFUL. I suggest EASY MODE for SLIME FARMING-its the easiest.
Do I need LAVA? WATER? Lots of LIGHT? No. Technically SLIME can SPAWN in the dark, but the way the game spawns enemies makes it nearly 0%. The reason you have to light up your FARM is so that other ENEMY MOBS won't spawn, increasing the chances of SLIME SPAWNING there.
What's the best level (Y) for SLIME FARMS? On PC they've updated where SLIME SPAWNS, but on Xbox it's 'a few levels above BEDROCK'. I put my FARM on level Y:8, and they spawn fantastically.
Well guys, that's all I can think of for now. Any questions? Post 'em here and I'll try to answer. I'll check this daily, if not several times daily.
Its better to start on Bedrock. then make another room after u make the 3 high room then another one then another one then another one ud have like 5 slime spawn room thus giving u more slime.
You will want to light up existing caves nearby your slime farms to increase slime spawns, all detailed in my thread
Slimes will spawn on bedrock too so you can have it that low, this helps when building multiple levels of slime pads.
In saying that though I have my first slime pad 3 above bedrock to get my water channels in for taking them to grinding area
I never thought of that MrPinoyRocker, GENIUS!!! So start a 3 block high cave on level 3, and one above that and so on until you get to level 16, which is the limit on Xbox, it will most likely be 40 in the next update, which is coming soon from what I hear.
What would you like to know about redstone? I didn't post anything because I am fairly new to working with redstone, but if you got a question I'll find an answer.
hidden chests are easy, basically you pour lava in front of your chest is one way, it'll be hidden and that's the least expected place for a chest to be in. There are also other, but more complicated ways (well, for a person who isn't so good with redstone that is lol).
In regard to hidden chests, most of that is pretty easy redstone wiring. There are some really neat things you can do once they add in the update that gives dropped items a weight to apply force to plates with. For now, look up XOR gates and BUD switches. The two of those together can make any combination of hidden passages you need. BUD switches in particular, as those can be entirely hidden.

And XxIamOWSLAxX, here's a super awesome 'redstone for dummies' turtorial by CaptainSparklez! This is just to kill the time while I find out more on what you asked. What gadget and/or rebuilding item are you specifically trying to make? Anywho, as far as hiding redstone for secret stuff, I have found that it takes a suprising amount of effort to hide something as simple as a block(cobblestone, wool, etc.) door. I made a double door, 2x2, out of black wool for my house. Since I made the house first and didn't want to change anything, I had to make my wall 6 blocks thick where the door is just to hide all the redstone, it WAS only 1 block thick. To make things simpler, you need to build down with the redstone, so its under whatever it is you are trying to activate and hide. It will only go one block down, though, so you need to make steps. After all is hidden to your satisfaction, consider using a button or lever to activate it, and take the button/lever with you when you leave. That way, if its a door to a hidden chest room, it will just look like a wall and only you will know where to put the button/lever.
As I said, I'm still looking into this, and feel free ask some more to clarify what you want.
I typed a lot more, but it didn't post it after the video link, weird. Anywho, that video is just to kill time while I find out more on what you asked. What type of gadgets/rebuilding items are you trying to build? As far as hidden paths/chests, I found it is suprisingly complicated to hide the redstone for something as simple as a block door(cobbleston, wool, etc.). I have a 2x2 black wool door, and had to make the walls next to it 6 blocks thick to hide all the redstone....it WAS only 1 block thick. When trying to hide redstone, build down with it. It will only go one block down, so you have to make steps going underground in order to hide it well, and try to go 2 blocks underneath whatever it is you are trying to activate, as it will make hiding easier. Also, consider that if you put one block on top of redstone, and the next piece of redstone is next to the block you just put above the other redstone(the corner of the block meets the redstone step), it will break the chain, but if you use a slab(stone, wood, etc.) it will not break the chain. BUT, if you put two slabs on top(which equals one block again), it will still break. Anyway, that was a bit of rambling, I'm still looking into this, especially the XOR and BUD switches that Gishgeron mentioned. Also, you can currently use a dropped item to activate a wooden pressure plate, but that's not really hidden.
Well, hope this helps in the meantime.

all right, I hear your problem, and I come with a solution (it works really well!)
this video shows you how to make a hidden door that takes only about 15-30 minutes to make.
I used it and LOVE it. it's so cool!
hope that helps.

Hey Fayzed, got any pics of your grinding area, or is that over in your big slime thread somewhere. I'm working on a much larger slime farm now and am not sure how I want to go about grinding them, just looking for ideas. My current grinder just can't keep up.
As a general question, how high a drop will a large slime go off?

As high as you want, when slimes spawn they're facing one direction and continue to hop in that direction until they have a target (you) thats why you usually have channels on the side so no matter where they spawn they will always hop over the edge into the water channels.
There some pics somewhere floating around of it, but its all different now.
What type of grinder do you currently have, might be able to help you with a new design Ive been working on.
I thought I'd read somewhere that was what slimes did, but couldn't find it again, thanks.
As for the grinder, I've got two parts, 777static777 (I think) large slime drowning grinder that breaks them into small slimes and another drowning grinder of my own design that kills the small ones. It's the big slime processor that is getting backed up, I've wondered if widening it would allow more slimes to process. It's really the small slimes getting out that is the hold up. Still tinkering with it. Tried an ethos design that had lava in the corners of the pad that burned the large slimes while dropping the small slimes to the bottom level, but seemed to lose a lot of slimeballs on that one. Just ran across one last night that was just a 3x3 deep hole filled with water with a space at the bottom for small slimes to escape, but that was built on a really old version and haven't tried it yet to see if it still works.
Basically, I'm just experimenting with different ideas and seeing what I like best.
